Just reading the thread on cows milk below as it covers part of what I wanted to ask....
Jess turned one last week. Her routine is -
6am - 7oz milk
8.30am - Weetabix and toast
10.30am - 6oz milk
1hr nap
12.30 - lunch and yoghurt
2.30pm - 6oz
1hr nap
4.30pm - tea and fruit
6.30pm - 7oz
7pm - bed

Her aptamil has just run out so I'll try the next bottle with cows milk and nip out for vitamin drops but I'm not sure where else to go, how do I drop the day bottles?
Sometimes I think she's hungry at bedtime and I'm not sure if the 6am one is hunger or habit... We've tried pushing bedtime back but it has no effect. I've tried losing afternoon nap but she gets cranky.... Should I split cereal and toast up so she takes more toast?
Anyone any advice?

I went with what my lo wanted but we'd already dropped to two bottles while he was on formula (occasionally he wants three)I actually
Mixed cows milk and formula to gradually introduce it that way which worked well for us although I know people that did it how you are going to.

I also bought abidec drops which you syringe into their mouths. I was worried my lo wouldn't get the right dose of I used something that you put in milk as sometimes he doesn't drink all of his bottle

I was like pumpkin just followed my LO. By the time he was one he'd dropped down to a bottle first thing and a bottle before bed himself.

If you're concerned some bottles are out of habit, maybe try gradually reducing the amount she has each time, so instead of offering 6/7 oz, offer 5 and then gradually drop an ounce. Try this one bottle at a time, maybe starting with the mid morning or afternoon bottle. I wouldn't worry too much about the breakfast or bed time bottle, as my son was having them until he was almost two.

My little one was also down to just a beaker of milk first thing in the morning and a beaker of milk before bed time. Could you try increasing food portions so she wanted less milk in the day? We also give 5ml vitamin drops now our Lo is on cows' milk.

I picked up the vitamin drops yesterday.

I've tried with the food but when she's had enough that's it, I can't get any more food into her than I already do. I've tried snacks but she just throws them on the floor!

My little boy has been on and off dropping naps since he was a bit passed one year old and only now is only 2-3 bottles.. I only give him cows milk during the day, the max should be about 500 mls which is the same recommendation as it is for adults.. My lb won't have none else in his bottle he still drinks poorly.. I've got all cups under the sun to give other drinks out.. He now doesn't have formula milk during the day, if he doesn't want the normal milk in his bottle he can have a drink in his cup.. He loves orange juice..

At first I tried to switch the night bottle for goodnight milk but he wasn't having none of that!

Do you give water in a cup or sippy cup at mealtimes? I found this really helped to wean LO off daytime bottles so now he has a morning and nighttime bottle which I'm looking at keeping him on until about 18-24 months

Our LO IS 13months and has one bottle at bedtime of does milk -usually arpund 7oz. He usually has either porrige wih breakfast or toast with a little bit milk. He usually eats a big yoghurt after his tea so he's getting plenty milk.
Our routine is essencially
9am (he's a late sleeper) porridge, toast or sometimes a few pancakes with either a little milk or some water
12:00 lunch (usually chicken with some potatoes and a little veg) followed by some fruit
12:30-3pm nap
3:30 - small snack and water
5:00 - tea (usually a chicken casserole or mince and veg or sometimes he has fishcakes and veg or the like) followed by a yoghurt
6:00 bath
7pm - bed with 7oz bottle of cows milk

He sleeps through unless he's not well/teething/growth spirte etc.
