So yesterday was officially my last day at work. I have a few loose ends to finish up next week but that's me. It has not sunk in yet, it all seems "unreal" at the moment.

I had an appointment with my consultant on Thursday night past and the baby's head is 2/5 engaged. Wonder will I go early? I have feet like bricks - retaining so much fliud. I could not find any shoes to fit me this morning so I wore my pink slipers out lol.

My last day was thursday this week, and it feels weird knowing im not going back on monday!

Im sure im still in a blissful state of denial as well - it just feels weird waking up every morning, and thinking 'hmm, I could have my baby today'!

And at least your babys head engaged - thats surely a good thing - mine has only got into the head down position, let alone getting engaged!

Hi Lea,

We'll probably feel kinda lost for a bit but everyone says you soon get into the swing of it. I had a terrible last week. The lady we employed to manage my department found another permanent job and is not staying. Complete disaster. I was totally stressed out, worst week I have ever had in the 9 years I have been there. Even cried the other day which was a first for me at work. I'm on the good side of it now though. Just going to work from home for a few hour next week and then blackberry and laptop and being laid to rest lol.

I take my hat off (ok I don't wear a hat) to you ladies who have worked pretty much to the end. I dunno how you do it. I had a carry on at the place I was working before I was 12 weeks and left. Couldn't get anything else but I haven't really been bored because I moved house and been sorting that and stuff for baby. You guys will love the time off when you get uses to it! X

Hopefully Pinky! I've been there almost 9 years and have never missed a day sick, ever. Work has literally been my life until now. I'm hoping I take to being a mummy easily. Some craic if I say I don't want to go back to work. Husband will have heart failure lol.

Oh no, thats not good that your last week was so stressful, it was probably the last thing you needed...
Things will defo be a bit strange for a while - come Monday morning I will be itching to get up and do something! But Ive made little plans for each day, not very exciting ones, but means I get to get out of the house and do something, like Im picking up my tens machine on monday, then meeting a friend on tuesday, etc, etc. And like Pinkymum has been doing, stuff for the flat and baby still needs sorting out, so hopefully wont get too bored!

Aww Rose sounds like you are going to be walking around a little lost on Monday lol

I have been saying I can't wait to start maternity for ages but with being off this past week and being so bored I am not so sure lol

I am sure you will find things to keep you busy hun- make sure you relax and enjoy it xx

I'm going for a manicure and pedicure on Thursday, can't wait. Need something to make my fat feet look better! The time will fly in no doubt.

I need to finish the nursery too.

Yep I think if you make plans for everyday that helps. Make sure you rest too :)

Rose 9 years and no sick days??? amazing! your employers must love you! :)

Yes, hand on my heart, I have never ever missed a day at work sick. I have been very lucky in so far as I never get sick. I have never even had a sprain or a nose bleed. Never been in hospital either so am anxious about having to go in to have the baby. Am a bit afraid to be honest.

I know what you mean about the swelling in your feet! I had to get wide fit ones yestoday lol! I have cankles too :D haha xxx
