I am registered with a site called jumbletown.ie - I presume there is one for the UK as well.
It works on the principle that if you have it and don't need it, someone somewhere will want it and take it off your hands. FREE!
I warn you, it's addictive. I give items away that I don't need too, but about 6 months ago I got a free piano from someone down the country that didn't want one - and today I picked up a buggy/car seat/foot muff/ rain cover from a lady in Cork - she used it for her three little boys but it's pristine, you should see it! It's saved me literally about 300 - 400 because that's what a new buggy costs here on average.
