my little baby girl. shes all grown up now

she has just come into heat.

ive not had a female dog before. so am not really too sure on seasons.

how long will she be in heat? about 2 weeks isnt it?

the vet said for the first x amount of days he cant get her pregnant. is this true? and if so, how reliable is it? as its her first season, and there isnt much blood, whats the possibility of her having come on earlier without us realising.

were going to keep them seperate from now until she is done with her season. which is going to be fun. as rebel is already going mad over her.


im a little suprised she has come into season, as her colitis has stunted her growth abit. and her being ill lately, i thought she may skip it. but apparently not.

shes 1 in june. so shes the right sort of age (6-9months i hear is average)


any tips/advice?

my old dog used to be on heat for 11 days

i would try to keep them apart hun... my dog used to get reallt snappy around other dogs when she was on heat

Keep her away from boys
Because of her lady vibes, dogs will want to mount her so just be careful, and I'm sure all will be fine if the vet's happy

poor little mite wasnt happy today when OH took rebel out. but i cant risk her being impregnated.

it really isnt good for cream carpets lol. ive been constantly watching the carpet looking for spots lol.

found a couple today.

My Princess has had the op but she used to get really moody before she came on just like her Mum

She never let any male dogs near her when she was in heat. I can't remember how long it lasted but about 10 days I think.

Poor baby, give her lots of extra love and a lick from Princess x

i feel so mean, as i need to keep rebel away from her, and as the carpets, shes spending more time in the kitchen. poor little love.

have to keep reminding myself it wont be for long, and its better for her this way.

deffinately getting her done inbetween this and her second season. i cant go through this again lol
