October 2017 mummies :-)

I have a Doppler from last pregnancy and yes I used it but never as a back up and to be honest I was never sure if it was babies heart beat or just sound of mine or just noise lol

I am getting bigger by the day

It's not bump yet...it's just my layer of fat which gets more bloated as day goes on haha.

Lovely day here in London today, think a day outdoors is needed today!

Has anyone thought about summer holidays and whether they are going to take one this year? We always go to my parents place in portugal and flights at the moment are looking to be about £600 for the 4 of us, but I am reluctant to book as I will be 31 weeks then (hopefully) so not sure if it will be too hot for me being a huge whale? xx

We had a big holiday in September on a cruise so we are just going to haggerston castle next month which I have never been before but I am looking forward to it for my little boy x

I'm not sure about a proper summer holiday. My husband isn't back from his deployment until August (hopefully the beginning) and in I'm not sure how I'll feel or how big I'll be. Plus he'll be back from somewhere really hot so probably wont be too fused for a hot holiday.
We have booked 4 nights in Devon in a cabin with a hot tub (I'll either dangle my legs in or turn the heat down and the bubbles off and pretend its a big bath) at the beginning of June when he is back on R&R. I cant wait for that. x

I was meant to be young on a hen weekend to Spain at the end of July, but I would have needed a fit to fly certificate, as would be after 28 weeks, and I wouldn't have got one with my previous pre eclampsia. I am also terrified of flying and needed Valium to get to America, so I wasn't happy putting myself in a situation I find too stressful. My insurance company were great though, and paid out within 2 weeks (Bar a £40 excess, obviously!).

Amy Thomas, I love Devon - I live here! Hopefully the weather will be nice for you. I have a hot tub and haven't used it since I got pregnant, but if you turn the heat down to below 37 degrees (which is your body temp), you should be fine - if it's warm, you will prob want to turn it down even more
X

That's good to know- thanks Lea.
Has anyone tried any non/low alcohol 'alcohol' yet? I've always been a keen wine drinker, but obviously haven't had anything since I found out I was pregnant. I've not fancied booze at all since I found out I was pregnant, although with the weather being so nice it feels like today will be an afternoon I'd miss sitting in the sun with a summery boozy drink. Does anyone have any good non alcohol recommendations, or soft drinks that make you feel like you're drinking booze? Thanks x

I had a couple of bottles of becks blue at the pub the other day.....wasn't keen! Tasted too strong. I'll stick to diet pepsi or lemonade this summer!!

We went to the baby and toddler show today at Sandown Park. I got a really good deal on some MAM bottles and got 2 newborn MAM bottles and soothets for free :D got to try out lots of pushchairs and car seats. Was a good day! It's on tomorrow! I got free tickets from Emma's diary!

Ooh, baby and toddler show sounds fab! I love shows like that, you can get some really good deals...

Well, my dog stood really heavily on my belly today - I felt so sore and terrified I was going to start bleeding.
I decided to order a Doppler this week, and thought by the time it comes, I would have had my mw appt and i can copy her.
Well, it actually came today - on a Sunday!!
I couldn't resist and gave it a go - first 10 mins couldn't find anything, and it didn't stress me out as much as I thought it would. I left it a bit and gave it another go, and managed to find it! It's very roughly around 140-150 bpm.

Hope everyone is enjoying this weather - it's glorious!
I'm off to work shortly - marvellous....

Ohh. so exciting! I would so much love a doopler but I am afraid I would freak out if I could not find the heartbeat. What doopler did you get and how much was it?

I thought I would freak out more tbh when I couldn't find it...that's why I wanted to wait to see the mw so I would have an indication of where to go, how much pressure to use, etc - but I couldn't resist. There are loads of reasons why you may not hear it, think the main one is where the placenta is at the front so it cushions and muffles a lot of the sounds. But I left it a bit and went back and tried - I probably won't find it again now!
It's an angelsounds one - they have them at Argos for £35, or eBay/amazon for around £20. I got mine from amazon, with free delivery, so thought it would take ages - and defo wasnt expecting delivery on a Sunday, lol!

Can't believe I'm 15 weeks tomorrow - shits getting real!

I've officially hit the second tri now no matter what app I look at. Yay. Although felt pretty crap today. Woke up at 0500 with really bad pains around my ribs. Spent the afternoon feeling really uncomfortably bloated, as though my stomach wants to pop. Its really annoying as my stomach just looks fat and wobbly, but its so uncomfortable I just want to put sweats on and rub my belly. Living in skinny jeggings at the mo as they have an elasticated waist and my maternity jeans are still way too big.

Great news on the Doppler lea. I have thought about it but know I'd panic and without my husband here to reassure me I'd be a mess. x

I'm living in leggings haha have done for weeks. Tried to buy some dresses today but saw nothing I liked :( loads of pretty dresses which would of looked good when I was a size 8 :( now buying size 12-14....anything less feel too tight around bump/boobs!

14 weeks today and officially into second trimester :)

I am so jealous that you girls can wear leggings, with my legs I prefer not to . My maternity jeans are quite loose, I think I should have bought a smaller size. Well, you never know how big I bill get later .

Had a terrible migraine yesterday, had to leave work earlier as it was so strong I couldn't concentrate on anything and felt like crap. Thankfully it is now gone.
But tiredness seems to never go away..

Girls, did you start buying anything for the baby? I know clothes might be difficult until we found out boy or girl, but anything else? I think I am afraid to buy something !

Have a nice day ladies x
