.. October 2016 Mummies - Third Trimester - Final Round ..

God all the babies are growing and sounding fab.

This wee grubber will be 7w tomorrow.

Still settling into the new milk but having more brighter days and he didn't wake until 7.30 this morning which could have been a fluke so we will see what the next few days bring.

Gp on Monday and I think we will be trialing ranitadine to see if it helps the reflux and if that works then hopefully we can just stay on the nutramigen with hydrolysed milk proteins as apposed to the amnio acid based milks. Can't believe the price of it -£47 for 400g or a half tin. Madness. Thank god for the NHS

My lb was 6 weeks yday too! We turned a bit of a corner last night, he slept four hours solid! I was so shocked! First time ever, my boobs were full too, first ive had that ha! Shlrk how are you doing the expressing, manual or electric pump? Is it in one session or throughout the day,? I cant seem to pump more than 2oz at a time but as Claire said above that its an oz roughly an hour, my lb feeds two hourly so maybe i only produce 2oz? Does Aela have an expressed bottle without needing breastfed sfter? How much does she take? Sorry for all the questions just really dont know how people manage haha! Glad to hear shes doing well and congratulations on the breastfeeding lol.

Claire sorry to hear Carter has a cmpa but hopefully now things really settle down for you. Poor wee baby :( Is this milk on prescription or can you buy it? How is Jackson finding being a big brother?

Id try to do what Claire suggested Jasmine, my lb likes to sleep on his side sometimes in moses basket. I tried doing what you do and rocked the moses basket, he loved it and slept, as long as i kept it up haha!

I'm expressing with a manual pump Hun, and I usually get just under 5oz at one time but the way I do it is stop feeding her from the breast I will be expressing from just after tea time and only feed her from the other one until her first morning feed which is usually about 7, by this point my breast is extremely full! I express and get my bottle all in one sitting, takes about 20 minutes. Not sure if this method would work for you? but works for me, could be worth a shot :) yeah she takes the bottle and doesn't look for my breast afterwards, and she will take about 4 and a half ounces each bottle, she will sleep for at least 4 hours after it! Xx

Here's afew updated photos of Aela 😄 x

Just seen you asked about the milk mac.

Yeah it's on prescription thankfully. Although can be bought online and overseas. It's £47 a 400g tin!! Thank god for the NHS.

Jacksons doing fine. I think he gets a bit fed up of the noise and me saying to him to settle down or whatever. He's used to just making as much noise as he wants. But generally he's always talking him calling him his wee gorgeous baby

Well hows it all going? Im sure a few have had their jabs, howd it go? Hope its all settling for everyone.

We are just trotting on. Some days are better than others but it's nice to see his happy side albeit for 15 mins before a melt down lol. We have the dietitian in a few weeks to hopefully sort his issues.

Jabs aren't for a couple weeks yet. Think it's the 13th he gets them.

Carter is 8weeks old today. Total madness.

Hi my son had his 8 weeks jabs on Friday. One on his left thigh and 2 on his right and one orally. The poor thing went red in the face but didnt cry much. Gave him calpol infant paracetemol when we got home. He had a fever friday night and was monitoring him throughout. He seems low in energy and very sleepy and didnt feel well for a couple his feeds.

Today 2 days on he seems more like himself. Still abit more fussy than usual and he still wakes up every couple of hours to feed at night too. He is 9 weeks 2 days today

Hope everyone elses baby jabs go well 😊

Omg cookie that photo is adorable. Love it! Love his little Mickey outfit too xxx

Hi all hope your all doing good.

We had a wee hospital stint - Carter had a bladder and kidney infeftion so now settling back home after bloods catheter lumbar puncture and ivs. It was tough but for the best all results came back clear.

Since he got better we have a much happier boy. His reflux still bothers him a little but no where near as much now that we have the high dose ranitadine. His skin has cleared loads too. We seen dietitian in the hospital who's happy of his allergy and for us to remain on neocate until weaning we return for dairy free weaning advice in march. Carter has now started refusing the round teats so have had to box up my tommee tippee and Dr brown and buy a mam set. Can't grumble since we won't be shelling out for formula for the next year.

He has been feeding like crazy since coming home bit also suspect growth spurt as he's been sleeping alot during the day too but mostly his cries are replaced with smiles.

So moving in the right direction!

Nowhere near ready for Xmas but I'll get there.

xxxxx

Awww sorry to hear Carter wasnt well. I hope he recovers quickly. X x

Oh Claire im so sorry to hear that Carter was sick! Im sure you were just frazzled. Glad he is well and you're getting the right milk for him too. Youve not had it easy at all.

How on earth you all cope with more than one child is beyond me. I have zero time. My lb is just stuck to me like glue, i have a carrier to free up my hands but hes not keen unless we're out (tried slings too but that was a disaster). My c section wound still hasn't healed so I've still to take it easy so very much housebound. Going crazy. Lol.

Anyone else just not keen on going to mother baby classes? My health visitor hs now been texting me to get me to go but i have zero interest. I don't drive theres none close by and im still getting visitors and friends who haven't met my lb yet. When hes a little older and is sitting then yeah great for him to interact but ive no interest in going for me for now.

I must be the only person who gaibs weight after pregnancy! I didn't gain any the whole way through and now I'm gaining from being so inactive and eating constantlly. Breastfeeding is draining my very life force lol.

My little one had her jabs a couple of days ago. I nearly cried with her, she was so upset, she seemed ok afterwards but the day after was a different story, she just wasn't herself and was sick just before we put her to bed. She is back to her normal self now thank god! She has devolved eczema on her chest, neck and arms, having to put cream on her twice a day and bath her everyday in an ointment that the doc gave us xx

Picture of my little one :)

Ukk I know he's still bothered by reflux but see how we go over the next few weeks before trying omeprazole. The milks helped his skin loads though. He's on antibiotics until his next scan which is giving him runny nappies. Todays went all up his sides front and back because he hadn't gone in over a day so he was clearing out. His wee bits r sore but he loves bare bum time and chats and smiles away. Pees everywhere though lolol.

Having two is hard esp because Carter has needed all of me but luckily Jackson is easily amused I feel bad sometimes but I know he won't remember and it'll get better the older Carter gets. They are interacting loads now that Carter doesn't cry constantly. HV has suggested a one to one baby massage for us because I feel we missed out on bonding due to his feeding issues and me being ignored for the past few months.

I've gained weight for sure. After Xmas no more crap and no more coke. I hate my body atm. Makes me feel sick. I feel like I'm wearing Mrs doubtfires fat suit. I'm starting my fluid retention and SW and villain Michaels again. All that got me on track after jackson.

Hey all. Hope you and little ones are well.

Carter is doing grand too. He is 3m old old today (he was born exactly 9m after conception on his big brothers 3Rrd birthday who is 4 today!). We are finally settling into our own little routine. He rarely cries unless he needs fed. He was weighed on Friday and is 13lb 13oz! My big boy. He's also in 3-6m clothes. He has upped to 5oz now as he was feeding every few hours so thankfully I'm getting a wee break between feeds and he's sp much happier even sleeps better. We have got into the routine of 11pm down and then that's him till 5am a feed and right back down. He has went through the night a couple of times. But deffo more sleeping for mummy and Carter. :cheer:

He has his first set of jabs on Tuesday as these were delayed due to him being admitted.. so wonder how he copes with these.

We are teething mildly too. His two bottom teeth are under the gum and one side is raised so once he gets into full swing I doubt it'll be long his brother cut two by 4m. We have ordered a gummee glove to help as he's a bit young for holding the bigger teethers also he's just playing about chewing his fingers so this should help.

Finally settled with the mam bottles.. got some more of these and just hope he will revisit the other two sets when he's a bit older lol
We have had weaning info from HV and dietitian and under their advice are starting early weaning around 4-5m. Begin first tastes 4m and start trying a routine for 5m as we hope this will sort his reflux. He is still on his ranitadine and only hiccups bother us now and then but he does still regurgitate a bit and it annoys him. We will be doing dairy free weaning due to his allergy.

He's still on a mild antibiotic as a prophylactic to make sure his kidneys stay infection free for his scan. Hope to hear for this soon.

All in all he's a happy wee boy now and the tears are feeling like a distant memory for me certainly. He lays and plays and interacts more with Jackson also full of nice curious expressions and even has began chuckling mainly for daddy when he gives him a beard rub!!

So glad I've got to do a nice positive update for once.

Thread seems to be going a little quiet now :(. My little one is doing well, she has still got a little eczema and giving her infacol to help with trapped wind. She is sleeping well now as well, bought her a gro-bag from mothercare, she sleeps so well in it. She goes to bed between 10-11pm and only waked once in the night for a feed xx
