Nursing course!!

I'm starting the exact same course myself in September :) x

Awww amazing! Its my dream to be a midwife! spesh after one born every minute haha! Its just something i'd actually love! Not everyone gets to do a job they love..
Its uni that im worried about as alot of the courses ive looked at after this are all full time and i cant give up work.

But something im defo going to look into further IM DETERMINED! :) xx

Yeh it's only because I'm chucking in work that I can do it - I'm going full time and am scared because I'm leaving a flipping good salary to be a student  more to life than money I guess :oooo: x

Its a scary and hard decision isn't it!!!

Good luck hun :) xx

After that course you literally will be a qualified midwife without any other qualifications.

Didnt know it would be such an easy course to get into. I want a change in career but not sure yet. I want to kid start my business idea but need the funds :(

Thats an access course you do before uni.. You arent a qualified MW after it x

The accesd course is great, but alot of people were declined the MW course as they didnt have enough experience. I would really suggest doing some work experience or voluntary work, ie feeding networks, bf support, childrens centres etc. Without it it is very hard to get accepted as its so competetive. More than 500 people applied for a 50 place MW course at our uni xx

I'm going to study midwifery at uni in the next few years too. Currently in the armed forces so I need to wait till I can leave etc but I've already emailed the 2 unis I'm going to apply for and they've pointed me to what I need to do.
I'm hoping with my life experience (I'm not old bit I've done and seen a lot) that it will go in my favour.
Good luck to you it's do exciting when you finally decide what you want in life x

Are there a lot of jobs as a mw after you've qualified? I'm always on nhs jobs(looking for a promotion!) and I never see any mw posts in this area?? x

Im not sure, I think there may be but they are hard to find and when they come up they get snapped up quickly. A girl I know qualified and had to commute to warrington from lancaster everyday, until she recently got a job here xz

Ha I'm an ancient 31 then!! Hoping my life experience will count for a bit and also going to be applying for volunteer work whilst doing the access course x
