nursery

Oh rach I am so excited to see the finished room, am also a little jealous too, wish that we had started ours. It still needs sorting out, am trying to motivate DH to get cracking but nothing is happening, lol!!!! We bought a shredder on Friday and are going to start to sort out our filing boxes, we are transforming the computer room into the nursery so need to start to sorting all our finance boxes etc. I might do some shredding this afternoon while DH is watching the football on tv!!

Forgot to say that I think we are going to have our nursery as a Zeddy and Rhubarb one - I have been searching the internet for Beatrix Potter but it is either Peter Rabbit or other male or female characters which isn't helpful when you don't know the sex!!! We have been given a 10% discount card at the place where we have bought our pram and they stock the Zeddy and Rhubarb range so will probably go there to buy it all. I can imagine that it makes it so much more real to have the nursery nearly complete!

Wow rach it looks amazing, bet you are well chuffed :D :D

I don't have much news - I have got my 25 week m/w appt on Monday in which I have to get the MATB1 form so that they can sort out my maternity pay. I am planning on working up to 2 weeks before my due date unless things start to get too much for me. I know that I keep saying it but I can't believe how quickly time is going for us - can you believe that we are 24 weeks?

thanks lindsay hun it does look fab will do some more detailed pics when ive set it all up a bit better :D times going so quick i got midwife week after next must remember my matb1 i forgot to ask for it last time and my employers like to have it at around 20 weeks so am getting nagged now in work. have started decorating hall stairs and landing want it done and new carpet as soon as possible trying to get everything done before i finish work so i can spend last weeks of pregnancy making sure housework is kept on top of and relaxing while i still can.
bought some nappies and baby milk today have run out of things to buy :( dont know what to do now lol the only thing i can think of that i still not bought is a bag to carry babys stuff in on the push chair so will have to get one soon :D :D :D xxxxxxx

Hi Rachel,
The room looks gorgeous, you are so organised.
A belated Happy Birthday Lindsay I see from your post you had a great time in Dublin. Glad you both keeping well & getting lots of movements.
I have times wher baby is very quiet but the when I get movements they r much stronger than before. It's brilliant. I've been having little twinges down below, only on on side if that makes sense.Ist that normal?
I keep worrying. Otherwise everytn seems fine.
I still havent bought anything but I'm starting to put money by for when I do go on a spending spree. We gonna keep baby in our room for a few months so havent done much with nursery yet.I'll start nearer the time.
hope you both well.
Talk soon
Lorrie x

hi lorrie glad to see your still with us hun hope you are well try not to worry too much about the twinges its probably stretching pains ive had so many pains during pregnancy and have given up worrying about them now baby is growing fine and midwife says its normal to have pains and does not seem bothered at all about it :(
i will also be having baby in my room for first few months have got a lovely swinging crib so ive not got to set up cot in my room :D apparently baby can go in there till about 5 months where as a moses basket can only be used till about 3 months so baba will prob be in my room till 5 months then will put him in his cot in his room :D xxxxx

Hello Lorrie

Ditto what rach has said about pains, I still get the odd twinge now and have stopped worrying about them as much. I have got my 25 week midwife appointment later this morning so will mention them anyway but I am sure they are nothing to worry about!

It is DH birthday today so have taken the day off work (as he is off too!) am getting too used to being off work!! I have only got 1 more day annual leave to take now before end of March so will save that day for next month! I then will only have to work April as a full month before starting my maternity leave, whohoo :D :D

I have had a busy weekend, I took DH to the races on Saturday, we stayed overnight in a hotel, went out for a posh meal on the evening and then went out for a few drinks (I stuck to Lemonade, Britvik Orange and Bitter Lemon, lol!!! whereas Dh was on Guinness and Red Wine so felt rough yesterday  I found it really strange, cos I haven't been going out as much drinking since being PG, but it was really difficult squeezing past people, normally I would be weaving in and out of people and pushing to front of bar, but not anymore, lol!!!!

hi lindsay hope your midwife app went well did you hear babys heart?
:D its so great to hear it xxx
nursery looking fab made the cot and crib up yesterday so it looks really nice i know it will all have to come off and be washed again but wanted it to look nice for now :D still got some bits to put away in there but will take photos later xxxxxx

Hi rach

my app was fine, my blood pressure and urine were both normal. I asked about hearing the babies heartbeat and m/w said that the government doesn't recommend to hear the heartbeat until 36 weeks but she said that she would listen out for it, she tried and tried but couldn't find it. It was funny though cos she was looking for it and baby was kicking her out of the way :D :D I got my Mat B1 form and have my next appt in 3 weeks where we will talk about birthing plan - it's all so exciting!! Shge measure baby and it is measuring at 25 weeks exactly so normal size for now, although she did say that we may have a 8/9Llb baby cos DH and I are both tall

Hi Rachel & Lindsay.
Glad your appointment went well Lindsay. Baby's certainly active. I havent been out socialising too much, mainly out for meals although A gang of use went to play/musical last Mon night, nobody drinkin so I didnt feel left out. I've been allowing myself 1 glass of wine a week if I do go for a meal, it's harder to drink it now anyway so glass tends to last forever. It's great feeling better & well enough to be out & about again. Definitely not as tired. How bout you two. Rachel I'm gonna either borrow or get pres of crib for my room aswell cots just look so big even though they all say they suitable from birth.
I'm on maternity leave end May.Due date 14 June. Your finishng April Lindsay whens your due date again? How bout you Rachel?
Hope you both had nice weekend
Lorrie x

Hi Lorrie, I am hoping to finish on May 5th and am due on 24th May - will see how I get on as people keep telling me I should finish earlier, but would rather have more time off with baby. I may add 2 weeks annual leave on to the end of my maternity leave too if I can.

Morning rach, insomnia is creeping in again :x :x been awake since about 5.30am, aagh! Don't feel too bad yet, it will hit me this afternoon at work :(

We went to see Derailed at piccies last night, it was brilliant I would recommend it. I sat and munched my way through a tub of salted popcorn too so was well happy, yummy!!!

Hope you have a good day ....

Xxx

awww lindsay poor you i know how you feel im still getting the odd bout of insomnia :( was up at 5 this morning and didnt get to sleep till gone 1 i think its just our body and minds way of preparing us for when baby needs night feeds although saying that im finding it increasingly difficult to get comfortable in bed it seems no matter how i lie i wake up in pain not long later :( have had a lot of pressure down below last few days feels like baby is sometimes trying to kick his way out of my cervix already :( added to that it looks like im coming down with yet another bloody cold and sore throat
anyway enough moaning lol that derailed looks like a good film and ive not been to cinema for ages might see if o/h fancies going some time next week last time i went to cinema was to see the last harry potter film.
still decorating like mad trying to get hall stairs and landing done and fighting my way through last couple of weeks in work am so glad im not working longer now :D just over 6 weeks to go then can spend last 9 weeks getting house spring cleaned before baby arrives and just chilling at home :D son gone away this week with my sister to centre parks so am missing him like mad although hes phoned and hes having a great time doing lots of things hes never done before canoeing archery etc hes having a wail of a time :D

wow you know it feels like only last week we found out we were pg and now look at us only 15 weeks to go    where is the time going?? xxxxxxxx
