Trying to choose a matchin set for the nursery is making me want to tear my hair out!!! I see one I like then I see another so go off the first one, then I hate go off the one I now like and start to like the first one again......then I see something cheaper that I like almost as much (but not quite) so is it worth saving the money.... :x :x

I've been trying to look on the internet at work today but everything seems sooooo expensive for just three bits of furniture.

Do any of you have any secrerts to where you got yours from (hopefully at a resonable price) or do you know what you're having yet???

I've narrowed mine down so far to a set from Mamma's and Papa's or a set from Argos that I like but I'm open to other ideas if anyone knows of any.......

cheers

Well we aren't going to get anything other than the cotbed as we have other furniture in his room anyway, but I am definitely buying from babies r us as they are really great prices. The catalogue seems to have more choice than the website though for some reason although I don't think you can buy through the catalogue :(

Also there are a few sets here. I had this site recommended to me by a colleague. They sell a lot of stuff, not just furniture, cheaper than the main retailers :D

I had a good look around first time around and we decided to get the Mamas and Papas Savannah range - wardrobe, chest of drawers, storage chest, cot bed and bookcase :D

I've found them to be solidly built, really good quality. We're using the cot bed for baby no.2 and the storage chest and need to get a new chest of drawers.

Do a search on the range you want from M&P on google, I found a site that offers them a bit cheaper than from M&P direct and free delivery. Can't remember the site now.

I'm going to have a look in MFI for a chest of drawers as a possible cheaper option this time but only if it's decent quality otherwise it won't last as long, false economy.

They do a range that's very similar to M&Ps savannah range, a bit cheaper. Worth a look maybe if you haven't been there already.

My original plan was to have a cotbed from babies r us and use some existing furniture but nothing matches so I've scrapped that idea and I want to get a set now so that it all matches in.

oh we feel in love with the mamas and papas ocean range, we are ordering it in July but only going for the cot, chest of drawers and wardrobe.

we are looking at a couple more tomorrow but we really like the mamas and papas coastline cotbed and changer, dont really need wardrobes as there are two built in in her room, going for a white set, also like the sleigh cotbed from toys r us but they didnt have it in the shop to look at only online apparently

Oooh I know what you mean, now that I'm looking at their range I can't see any matching sets that I like. I must admit the M&P stuff is lovely. Can't wait to see pics of your nursery :D

Ikea strangely do some gorgeousss sets, and soo cheap and versatile, i think were just geting a new cot, as all our furnitures a certain style and babs will be in our room, but i did absolutely fall in love with the way ikea had set out their nursery, all green with pretty white furniture, plus good ideas on their website !

The one we're thinking of getting is from Argos which is £399 for the cot bed (height adjustable with standard matress) dresser with changing unit, wardrobe and an undercot draw.

The main thing we wanted was a height adjustable cot bed, and the other one we liked from Mothercare was £159 without the matress, so with a matress and bedding would end up costing just as much as the Argos full set! x

probably wont help much!
we have a discount M&P store near us and we have found a cheap cot that goes to bed in a light wood colour so were going to get that- think it was about 100 and then mattress is extra
we are 'kind of' lucky in that babies room has a built in cupboard (currently full of all sorts) and we are going to buy a new door for it then hubby is in charge of converting all the shelves and adding rails so it fits in everyting the baby needs!! (thats the ideal anyway so no other furniture)

We got a m&p cot, argos chest of drawers and a 2 door wardrobe (adult size, not kiddies) and a new single bed with under bed storage in case I need to sleep in room. £399. Didn't get kiddies furniture as it was small and I'll be the one hanging the clothes up not the baby.

yeah i thought that about the wardrobes also!!

not bothering with a wardrobe at all, bubs clothes will all fit into a chest of draws and i dont really think about hanging baby clothes!

Got a cot from mothercare, changing table from ikea, adult chest of draws from ikea, toybox thingy and bookshelf. Then a big wicker hanging egg chair for me! its all things that will last, just need to swap the cot for a bed, the changing table will cut down to a wee table and we'll pick up a chair .

TBH it seems like as soon as you mention the word baby they add extra ££s to anything!

Im so jelious.. i wish i had a nursery but am stuck in a 1 bed for a while. :( i Will be using my old cot and a cheap chest of drawers.. im hoping the baby doesnt involve alot of stuff! lol.. i could be kidding myself!

we've bought the bed £105, wardrobe £99 and chest of drawers £69 from ikea... mammut range in red and pink.
apparently theyve got a cot coming out soon to match so im holding off buying the cot till that comes out.
the furniture isnt as expensive as the nursery ranges in m&p amd mothercare and i think it looks better and will last longer maybe till she's 10?!
