Now 6wks 4days overdue, help!!!

Hello everyone.

I am just after some advice please and probably just to let you know how I am thinking as its not the easiest of things to bring up . I usually have very irregular periods and if anything have a cycle that is less than 28 days but was last on the pill in March. My last period began on 23rd May and I haven't had another since. For over a week now I have been feeling as though my period is going to start and it hasn't, my breasts have also been sore and i have been quite tired but I do work long hrs so that could be the reason why. I have also been opening my bowels more often and having the odd hot flush and feeling bloated and always hungry. I have been worried about doing a test as i know I will be upset if not positive and if it is positive i will probably be scared stiff. My hubby thinks I should test as 6 weeks is a long time and i just wanted to know if leaving it another week would make a difference? will the tests always test positive if you are preggers at any time of pregnancy or should you test as soon as you have a suspicion?

Hiya,
You can test on the day your period is due, so if it has been 6 weeks since your your period then you could be approx 7 weeks pregnant already (taking from first day of your last period)........get testing!!
If you leave it a week the result will be the same as it is today as if you are pregnant and have missed your period then the test will show positive already.
Get testing & let us know how you get on

thanks for your replies ans taking the time to read my blurb . I am so nervous about doing a test, it silly i know, wish everything was just simple. For the first time yesterday a felt quite queasy in the afternoon with a stonker of a headache too, the queasiness seemed to be really intense, is that what morning sickness can be like? No had that feeling before and today so far feel ok again apart from a bit of pre period type tummy cramps .

Also if you are preggers, how quickly to you begin to put on weight, haven't weighed myself but i feel 50 stone!!!!! xx

Why wont you do a test, i'd have done 20 by now. At least you'll know!

Skairdykat - i think I may be preggers too - oh my god i have said it!

Maybebaby - i would love to be preggers although i know i would be so so worried and nervous all the time, bit like I am at the mo i guess. We have been trying but not overly hard so I wouldn't have expected it to happen so soon.

Kellysomer - yes I have waited ages to test, part of me thinks that these crampy type feelings I am geeting will be followed by my period although they have been happening for a while now and the other part of me would be scared but excited if the test was positive and if negative after waiting all this time I would be quite upset......what am I like!

All of us hun so your in good company LOL.

Can you not go and get a test today? I think considering your so far past you period being due it'll work without you using first morning urine.

I know what you mean about being too scared to test. I was like that the other month. I was about 5 days late but was scared to test. I thought i was PG but still was too scared in case it was neg. I tested in the end and it was neg. Then then next day my period showed up

Taking a test or not taking a test is not going to change the result, you really need to know (for folic acid etc)

with my first i had a feeling i was but refused to test till my family made me.
coz it wasnt planned i was 2 scared to test. might be the same for you, id test if i was you, youll know one way or the other, coz u sure cant go on feelin like you are....good luck

definately test! It is sounding extremely promising with you having morning sickness symptoms too.

If its bfn maybe you should see the doctor just to make sure everythings ok, I will be amazed if it is bfn though.

Hi everyone

Thanks for your words of encouragement. I still haven't been up to testing.......mad I know as I will need to do it soon. One of you has talked about folic acid and stuff too so i know i should do it. I will def keep you informed .

I'm new to all this and would be a first time pregnancy if it were positive so please forgive me if I am sounding silly. Also still trying to get used to some of the abbreviations. What does AF stand for, gathered it was starting your period
