Been to the docs... now even more confused and annoyed

Afternoon all,

I went to the doctors this morning hoping to get to the bottom of my confusion and he said "your only 15 days late if you tested on monday - then preg tests are very accurate and it would have shown positive so im not going to do a blood test as your period will come!" Grrrrrrr! So now I have to wait another 2 weeks to go back if my period hasnt come... What the hell???? Is this right?
