OMG im feeling sooooo ill :x yesterday and today got the cold from hell, and there's nothing i can take also got the cough from hell. Phoned chemist to see if i could have anything at all, but the answer was no. Then they went on to say that a couldn't even inhale anything (vicks, olbas oil) which i had already been doing. So now im a bit worried.
Anything you lady's to to easy it

keep warm and snuggled. It'll pass in the same time whether you take something or not.
best to avoid taking anything in the first tri.

Iv been having a runny nose and been generally feeling like crap and all i can suggest is get yourself wrapped up in bed and try and sleep it off.    hope you feel better soon

OK as your resident Speech Therapist (fanfare) I can suggest some non-medication things that may help.

1) Breathe in some steam (nothing in that you are not meant to have - it's just water) - this will rehydrate your throat and airway and reduce the coughing (and stop your throat feeling too sore).

2) They have recently clinically proven that hot blackcurrant actually helps to relieve cold and flu symptoms - so go get yourself some Ribena

Might not be quite the same as Beechams Cold and Flu but might help a bit xxx

Feel better soon

Maybe some warm boiled water slice of lemon and some honey - this has worked for me! x

awwww thank you all very much  will give all of the above a try.

Hot BlackCurrent yummy and honey and lemon is also good works for me

hope your feeling better soon

i am the same, my nose has been running so much it is now sore and my throat is sore too, i find chopping a few lemons up and put them in a pan of water, bring to the boil and simmer for at least half an hour, add some honey and it really does help, very soothing

hope we both feel better soon

I've been sneezing quite a bit the last few days and with being preggers I know I can't take anything. I'm fed up drinking decaff coffee and water so I bought some Ribena as I loved having that with hot water when I had a cold. Another option is honey and lemon but I use Jif lemon juice instead of an actual lemon.

The Ribena is packed full of Vit C and if you find your nose running try some orange juice as this is a natural anti-histamine and something I've been recommended in the past.

Get better soon
