Hi

I am 8 weeks pregnant and feel sooo poorly. I have no appetite at all, am constantly nauseous and feel so weak. Just simple tasks like making my sons cereal makes me extremely fatigued, hurts my back and gives me tight feelings in my tummy. I have to sit down after being up for a couple of minutes. My son is 5 and currently has chicken pox so is needing extra care. My husband works shifts so I don't have any help there. I do have multiple sclerosis which doesn't help but when I was pregnant with my son I had sickness until 18weeks and I don't remember feeling as bad as this.

I'm just wondering if it's normal to be feeling this bad?! I have left a message for the midwife to call me back but not heard anything, although I don't suppose there's much she can do anyway!

Thanks guys xx

Bless you, that's really rotten feeling like that. Wonder if it could be an iron deficiency? I had that in my last pregnancy and felt so weak. Could be worth asking the midwife. It's also extra hard having another child to look after (I have a 2 year old so feel a lot more tired this time around). I do hope you feel better soon xx

Thank you. I was wondering about an iron deficiency. Will def ask my midwife when I hear back from her. I had bloods taken at the booking in appointment, don't think they would of tested for that as standard though would they? Xx

You are tested for Anemia at booking appointment Dee. So if you are anemic it will flag up.

I've struggled horrendously this pregnancy. Not sure if it's my age, fact I have the other 2 kids or a combination but I was actually surprised I'm not anemic as I am so lethargic.

Anything serious and they would have called you by now.

Are you drinking enough?

If you are off your food you could be lacking in energy because you aren't taking enough fuel.

I'm 12 weeks and still no real respite. Just hoping it's not twins (will find out tomorrow ha ha)

Rest up, drink and eat whatever you can face.

Thank you, good to know that I should have been tested already.

Yes, it could be my age too actually on top of everything else. I'm 34 so no spring chicken

I am sipping water constantly and am trying to force food down little and often.

I'm sorry to hear you've had no respite yet, hopefully it will start to ease off soon with you entering the second trimester.

Aww good luck for your scan tomorrow. I've had an early scan so know it's just the one in there :)

Hi, I'm sorry to hear that you are feeling the same. I do take B12 supplements but I suppose I could still be deficient if I have an absorption issue. Thanks for bringing that to my attention, will def ask my mw about it when she finally returns my call :)
