Almost 16 weeks pregnant now, everywhere iv read says that by this time I should be able to eat without throwing up and I'll get my energy back.... I'm still waiting. My belly looks like I'm about 6/7 months pregnant, people assume iv put weight on because I'm eating for 2 now but the truth is that I'm barely eating for one. The most I can manage is a couple slices of toast or cereal and maybe pot noodle but not all in the same day. Whenever I try to eat other food I get serious nausea (I have not vomited once) which stops me eating so I'm not understanding why I'm sooooo big I feel like there is just too much in there if that makes any sense. Also I have pain on my right side. It hurts when I go toilet, cough, laugh, move or walk. Basically everything makes it hurt and it's really depressing me. And I have absolutely no energy what so ever. I thought that after trying for 12yrs to get pregnant and then It finally happened that I would enjoy being pregnant, but I really don't. So...... Anyone know of ways to boost my energy or any opinions on what's going on with the size of my belly?

Hi Aisha,

Reading that sounds exactly the same as my sister. She has had sickness all the way through her pregnancy pretty much - it even shocked me how late it was in the pregnancy and she was still being sick. She also got quite big early on, whcih shocked me as shes generally quite a small framed person, but she ballooned, but has actually rounded off now and just does look as huge as she did

So by the sounds of it, you arent the only one. she has 4 weeks to go and hasnt said shes been sick in the last few weeks.

Hopefully it gets better for you from here on in <3

I am still being sick in the morningsand have all day nausea even with anti sickness meds. Mine is down to rhinitis i believe but it does take it out of you.

My GP weighed me the other day and I've not put on any weight since about 20 weeks despite gaining a bump, I've not really put on any weight at all I don't think.

My energy levels are totally on the floor, I'm struggling not to spend all day sleeping. Some days I fail at that. When I do try to do housework I get hot, dizzy and lightheaded as well as more nauseated.

This is my last baby and I desperately wanted to enjoy it but I'm struggling! You're not alone. I'm still hoping that it'll get better!

Keep your chin up and take every day as it comes. I've started making little lists of things to achieve. Just 4 or 5 small things. When I do those, I add 4 or 5 more. It makes things bitesized and you can see what you've managed to do in a day, it helps keep you going.

Were your iron levels ok at booking? X

I have no idea what my iron levels are, what booking do you mean? But I am taking pregnacare

When you booked for midwife care they should have taken bloods to check a few things, including your iron levels. If they are low then you could feel the tiredness from that.

I haven't met my midwife yet, I see her for the 1st time next week. I saw a fast track midwife who registered me for the hospital so I could have my 12 week scan but she didn't take my bloods or anything
