Hi friends,

We've been expecting for 3 months. I and my husband are afraid that intercourse during this time could harm to the baby? Is that true? Or is there a safe period when we can make love?

Many thanks!

You can have aex throughput unless theres a problwm and mw tells tou nkt to.

As the above poster mentioned, unless you've been advised to abstain from sex for a particular medical reason I wouldn't worry too much.

I've had no complications this pregnancy and we've had pretty rough sex fairly frequently (although as you get bigger it becomes like some weird circus act trying to get into any position lol)

If you're worried talk it over with your midwife for reassurance.

And remind OH that he's not gonna hurt the baby and they won't know! Men seem to get a little funny about that if they're not explained why the penis doesn't go anywhere near baby.

Only time to Not have sex would be if you're waters have gone/are leaking or if you're getting bleeding or pain afterwards. But just to reassure you that some crampin after sex would be normal so don't panic!

Go head and enjoy ;)

Im 16 weeks and we have had sex every single day. Sometimes more than once a day.

Apart from it being bloody painful, there are no other associated risks

Interesting because I've actually found sex LESS painful since being pregnant! In particular certain positions that would have hurt before because I was quite 'small' don't hurt now... Gonna miss that post-pregnancy!

Unless advised otherwise, sex in pregnancy is perfectly safe.

Had some of the best sex I've ever had while pregnant with my daughter! Lol

XX

Sex is great in pregnancy! Only time you can guarantee you won't get pregnant;)

Ah, but you can get pregnant while pregnant if you continue to ovulate! It's an anomaly but can happen!

thats really not fair! Its so unbelievably painful, seems like he keeps hitting a wall inside. sorry TMI.

Although my sex drive is amazingly high right now lol

Have you had children before? If so, does it go right back to pre-pregnancy size? Im quite concerned lol

This is my first. The only explanation I can think of is that while not pregnant my cervix was always quite low so certain positions would be painful because he would be too far in, but now I'm pregnant I can't even reach my cervix so it's more comfortable and allows for more um... vigorous.. sex :P

My sex drive peaked in the second tri, disappeared for a bit in the early third tri and now it's back but just really exhausting and like a said, some weird circus act, trying to have full of sex when I'm this big at 39 weeks tomorrrow :P

WTF. Imagine that! I just dont understand how the biology would work.

According to what I've read before, it's something to do with releasing, fertilising and implanting an egg and then the next month or two after already being pregnant your body releases another healthy egg which also gets fertilised and implanted if you DTD at the right (or wrong, depending on how you look at it) time.

So basically carrying twins with a month or two difference in conception dates.
It's so rare but has and can happen!

wow the body is so amazing.

If this ever happened to us then my o/h would be over the moon.

I have found orgasms to be more intense whilst pregnant! Due to increased blood flow down there. Try it and enjoy!

Have had sex with previous pregnancies however been told to refrain this time around for various reasons but in all honesty with the ups and downs of this pregnancy hubby would be to scared to.
