My LO is a nightmare at night he still feeds every 2 hours and hates the moses basket. The only place he will sleep is in his bouncer or in a motorised swing which helps him get to sleep.

Is anyone else's LO like this? any ideas on how i can get him to lie flat?

do he scream and cry like he is in pain whjen you lay him flat, Dior could only sleep upright as she had terrible acid reflux, and it also made he feed all the time, i had to either have her sleep in her door bouncer or on my sholder. in the end i bought her a wedge for under her cot matress and she slept upright all night

Not all the time, sometimes when he is really really out of it i can put him down in the moses basket and he will sleep for a sort time. But goes off better being upright. He also like being rocked to sleep.

if he dont seem in pain, then he might just want to be close to you

try swaddling him tight in a blanket that way he will feel safe like he is being held, and i used to roll to blankets up put them either side of my son that way he felt tight like he were being held. or a sleeping bag might be worth a try x

and maybe roll a towel up have it under the mosses basket to tilt it slightly, i had to do it with my son too, make sure his feet are to the bottom so he dont fall down under the covers xx

Thanks i have tried that but will give it another go, also in the night he will wake for a feed sometime and it takes an hour for him to get back to sleep, so if he is in his swing i put it on low and he goes back to sleep within 10 mins, do you think i am wrong doing it this way? in his swing he is at the same angle as in his bouncer.

i wouldnt worry about it, look at the position he was in in your tummy
laying flat is better but i would put himin his swing if its making him happier and your life eaiser x

We think we figured out why Isaac didn't like his moses basket, he's VERY inquisitive 'nosey' and in his basket I think he just got distressed as he couldn't see out, might be something to think about? Also Isaac loves to be sung to sleep, have you tried singing to him? He also has bad startle reflex and so likes to be held firmly to get to sleep too.

Isaac will often sleep much better on his front but I'm too scared to let him sleep like that, even with a motion monitor  but he will lie flat if he's finally worn out for the day, as for during the night/early hours, I find sometimes the only way he'll settle is by coming to bed with me instead of getting in his own 'bed'.

Very best wishes, I do hope your LO is well too

he is only 1 month old and so he naturally wants to be close to something familiar or rocked as he remembers in the womb.
have you tried putting him in bed with you? They love being close to their mummies and sleep realy well that way.
For saftey have him on your side and use a bed guard on your eld of the bed to prevent him from falling out of bed.

Health visiors etc will frown upon co sleeping but it is only in the last few centuries that babies were made to sleep alone in cots. Years ago whole families slept to gether in the same room and bed.
:)

i asked my health visitor about this a while ago when damon was a baby and she said maybe he just finds the moses basket boring because he cant see anything (he would only sleep in his chair.) when he went to his cot he was fine with his mobile to keep him happy and he could see out.

Sounds like our LO. He hated the moses basket too and doesn't generally like lying flat. We bought a cotbed recently and he seems much happier in it as he can spread his arms and legs out. He's still not happy being flat and won't sleep in it during the day unless he is really tired but at night he gets to sleep in it much easier than the moses basket which we got rid of.
