Confusing night of 4.30 and 6.30 feeds (sleep at 12.30) totally different to normal!

Hi everyone,

I always read this thread during night feed to keep me awake but never write anything (you may have noticed!) but here I am. My boy is 9 weeks and inconsistent. I try not to stress about it as he's still young but I miss my sleep so much! He usually does one wake up between 12-3 (used to be 2-3 but changed!) then 4-6. He goes to sleep after his 9pmish feed. Don't bother putting him down earlier as he isn't sleeping through yet.

Doesn't everyone ask that question?! "Are they sleeping through yet?" Maybe there's a secret sleeping through club. I can't see it happening for ages. He's breast fed and I keep getting told to give him formula before bed to make him sleep because that's what they did 30 years ago. Tried it and it didn't work. He's just not ready!

I do miss sleep! Xxx

The myth that ff babies sleep through is balls. The simple fact is babies are all different and some don't sleep through for ages. Plus they keep changing!
I really miss sleep too! X

The operative word in my sentence is 'should' Spin! I didn'tmanage to put Ella down for her last nap yesterday for example. I was told that it's really important that at least 1 of the naps happens in her cot. Are you able to do this at all!

Welcome MrsE!

I've just started giving E an evening.meal. Tonight is the first time she has slept a longer stretch though. 6.5 hours though...can't complain!

Lol that's true Sophie! She will only nap in her cot. But since I've started getting her to nap in her cot in the day, her night time sleep has definitely got worse.

Why is it everytime I express before bed, she wakes super early (compared to normal) screaming, and nothing but boob will settle her.
I stayed up till 11.30 expressing as the last 3 nights my boobs have been so full it's woken me up around 3am ish.so tonight I went back to pumping for an hour before bed...and 1.30 she was awake...and my boobs are still too empty to give her a proper filling up. Xx

Hi ladies, time for me to join I think, I can see lots of being up in my future!
I am trying to settle into bf. So much of this seems really hard. I've booted dh into spare room so he is functional in the day to help better. Currently trying to settle Jess after 2 hours on on/off boob, hiccups, and dh is officially fired from nappy duty... had a disastrous poop and wee leak wake up at 12.30am.

May not be feeding but still been up for the past two hours :/ prettt certain grace has some trapped wind after her last feed as every time I put her in her moses basket she cries, yet holding her is fine. Only problem is she won't let me wind her in any position, she just keeps crying when I try :( my arm is getting sleepy!!

My lo had been sleeping though from 3 months but this past week she's woken early every morning and will only go bk to sleep in my arms the lack of sleep is catching up with me I'm so tired but can't sleep with her in my arms

OH is doing the feed this morning which is good but I'm still wide awake!

A lot of naughty babies tonight! Mollies been awake now for nearly 4h...ive had 2h sleep...I've tried everything, really don't know what to do, she's wide awake. I've tried boob, formula, dummy, rocking, shhing, new nappy, re swaddling, winding, letting her cry...she's just wide awake and doesn't want to be in bed! Her cries have woken up the neighbors now I feel really bad xx

I should add, she's woken up the nice neighbors! Why does LO always do this when hubbys away x

Maybe she's unsettled as your OH is away Hun? Hope she settles back down soon for you x

My oh has taken over her next feed but I don't wanna sleep cause I'm anxious to see if she goes down okay :/

If it's anything like here you will be wishing you just done it yourself lol x

I doubt it Katie, he's away a lot and it's always me that puts her to bed & does the night feed etc. Has your OH totally mucked up the routine again :-( I find it so hard not to intervene sometimes but you know they are doing it wrong!!
Diddle, just rest - let hubby deal with settling her!
Cupcake how old? I suppose when your used to them sleeping through, any change is not nice! Being up 2-3 x a night or for 3-4h is not unusual for us, even at nearly 4 months xx

He does try bless him ad I feel awful for moaning but it always ends up
Him going back to sleep and me having to spend even longer than usual getting Jack back off to sleep! X

My lo is 5 months, I started weaning a few weeks ago maybe it's a change in routine that's brought this waking up in the night on!

My husband gets up when he knows I'm up and offers to help but I feel it's easier just to do it myself but I'm grateful he offers he would be knocked back if I said yes haha

Well Hannah just loves to mix it up. No two nights the same for a fortnight. Not bad last night but I'm not used to it so makes it a little harder.
12-3.30 then 4-7.45.then she'll drop back off now I expect but we're off to ikea......

Sorry about all the rough nights on here! Harsh. It never gets easier to have bad sleep!
