Nightfeeds Chat Thread

Don't normally post on here, hi guys! A has taken an hour at least to settle after each feed. 11, then 2, not too bad, didnt settle til 3.30 than up at 4.20 again! And now struggling to settle :( full of wind I think, may get some gripe water tomorrow. Hope we can go back to sleep and da1 doesn't get up at 6/ before 6 today!!! Sleep vibes all x

Oh no Minchin, that's the worst when they take ages to settle, so frustrating!! To be fair, even though we've still been up every 2 hours tonight, he's literally been awake for a 10 min feed and then gone straight back down which has made it easier...although he's looking pretty wide awake now!

Not a good night here! Seren was up at 12.15 then 3. I decided to cosleep from 3 because I was feeling lazy. Then she woke up at 5 to feed again then was sick all over herself and the bed so woke right up when I changed her. She's been awake ever since! I've given up and watching tv now. Haven't had a night like this since the newborn days but hey I'm getting great smiles!

Took her to the docs yesterday about how much she's sick and he was stumped and said he'd do a bit of research. Phoned me back later to say he'd prescribed something for her but I don't know yet what it is, hopefully can pick it up today. Not sure I'm too confident about it though as he didnt seem to have a clue what to give her when we were talking to him xxx

Spin- I really hope your neighbours do get evicted soon! What a nightmare! Gosh our little babas do like to keep up on our toes! Hope everyone gets back to sleep xxx

Arthur wanted a feed again at 5.45! Then ds1 up at 6!! Time to start the day, Tfif!

AMmdaz, hope the prescription helps.

Beesmall, sounds like he knows it is night then just needs time to grow a bigger tum and do longer?

Arthur was so wriggly and in pain after each feed it seems like he has v bad wind. Not been this bad before usually settles ok, fx gripe water makes a diff

I'll be interested to know what he prescribes. Let me know! :)?

Can I ask you expert ladies, do you nurse to sleep? Sorry I'm pretty new to all this, but at the mo the only way she'll go to sleep is after a feed, so I feed her before bed, put her in Moses basket then when she wakes up rooting I feed her, change her, then feed her again until she falls asleep and then I put her back on her basket.

This means waking every 2 hours at night for about 1 hour, so not getting much sleep... :(

She's only 9 days old though so not sure what's normal or not? Xx

Sounds pretty normal to me chick. I ff and Phoenix fed every 1.5-2 hours at the beginning. She also used to feed and fall asleep. It gets better so hang in there!

Yep, sounds right to me, Chloe. You don't have to worry about feeding her to sleep for another month, I'd say. She's growing loads now and establishing her milk supply. Hang in there, it gets easier.
Poor you, Minchin. Sounds like a rough night. Hope you managed to get a nap in the day.
How did you get on with the prescription. Ammdaz?
Having a good night so far. E went down at 7. She stirred at 11 when we came to bed but dropped back off again until 1...that's 6 hours! Am so happy! Another 6 hour stretch would be amazing. Would be great to actually profit from it this time!
Hope you're all having good nights

Yep Chloe totally fine, just go with whatever u have to do with a newborn. Xx

Yay well done E! As u haven't been back on Sophie I'm hoping this means good news?! We were up 3:40 so not too bad! Eyes are still stinging though! Xxx

Ha ha, I hear you with the stinging eyes, Claire! She only went 3 hour stretch after that, slept half am hour and then started crying. She's been a bit sick so am feeding her again.

Well Henry only did 2 hours again 11-1...I cried when he woke up...I can't cope with 90 minute bursts of sleep, it always takes me a while to settle after him and I feel like I've just got onto a deep sleep when he wakes up again. Anyway, he must have heard me because he then did a 3 hour stretch... Longest sleep I've had all week. Hope you're all having decent nights ladies x

The six hour stretch is back! Yay! Seren went down at 8.15 and woke for first feed at 2.20. Back down by 2.45 and second feed just now at 5.30. She's fallen back to sleep on me but not anticipating getting much more sleep myself as she's usually noisy and restless if I put her back in her bed at this sort of time. Can't cosleep as DS is in with us tonight after having a nightmare bless him and my bed isn't big enough to safely fit Seren in as well! It's not really big enough to fit DS I'm either lol so I've had a fair few kicks in the back through the night and haven't really benefitted from Seren sleeping so well.

Haven't picked prescription up yet - doc said he'd send it round to chemist for me but wasn't sure it would be ready yesterday as they can be a bit slow so will pop in this morning and update if I get it then xxx

Yay for longer stretches of sleep! Max seems to have a new routine going now, bed at 9/930, up at 3/4, then back up at 6/7. Not the best but not the worst either! His 2 bottom teeth are coming through so he is pretty moany during the day but it doesn't seem to have affected the night YET! Xxx

Hello! E fed badly all afternoon so thought I'd be in for a bad night. Down at 6:30, waking crying at 10:30 to be fed, then up at 3:30 for another feed. Woke up to find her upside down in her cot lol!
Hope everyone's got some nice sleepy babies on their hands!

Oh my god I don't think I've ever been so happy in all my life...I need to calm down or ill never get back to sleep! Instead of his usual 2 hours from 11-1, Henry did 4 and a half from 11:15-3:45!! Whoop :-)

Well done Henry! It's a great feeling when they first do a long stretch isn't it?

8-2 and 2.30-6 here, yay! We we were in this routine a week ago then we had a week of bad nights again so fingers crossed the good nights are here to stay now! Xxx

Far did an amazing job last night! Fed 6pm, then 12.30 am then 6.30am :) a little extra sleep does wonders for u!
