Nightfeeds Chat Thread

Jake ditched his reliable 5 hrs and did 4 tonight :-( despite having emptied me and taking a 4oz bottle before bed!!!!

Henry was so unsettled yesterday, really don't think he was well, bless him, so was expecting a bad night. He did 2 and a half hours then 2 so we are now feeding for the second time...it's going to be a looooong night x

Spin: I tried a dummy again with E tonight. It stopped her crying but she didn't suck it, just kept making it come out of her mouth while I tried uphold it in!

E had an alright stretch this evening but cried for 1.5 hours after her first feed, then did 2 hours, then just an hour :-(

The 5am feed is back, I guess last night was a one off. Oh well.

Sophie, well at least it gave u some quiet :-)

Bex, things are so variable aren't they!
Bee small - did things get any better?
Tigger - growth spurt maybe?
We were up at 2.30 ish for a feed. Then she woke at 5. I took buggys advice and refused to feed her & tried the dummy. It worked!!! She slept till 7 xx

Our night didn't really get any better, he was awake every 90mins/2 hours and was in bed with me from 3am cos I couldn't settle him in his basket. Hopefully he'll be feeling a little better today and we'll be able to catch up on some sleep, definitely a PJ day for us!

Well last night was not good!! Poor M had his jabs yesterday (third and final till 1 thank god!) and he was really wingey all night, I got up and settled him about 5 times, then at 3 he woke screaming and when I picked him up he was absolutely boiling! I quickly stripped him off and took his temperature - 39.2! I started feeding him and it quickly started to drop thank god, but the poor mite had a vest, babygrow, and doubled over blanket on him! He had some Calpol and finally fell asleep 2 hours later. I put him back to bed in just a vest and light blanket on him and he slept noisily until just after 8. Was awful! I kept having to get up and check him so I feel like I've been up all night. Seems ok today though thank god. Xxx

That's scary, Claire. Does he seem ok today though? No temp or anything?
I wish Ella would take a dummy, spin! Would make life so much easier.
I've just got back from an interesting chat with a midwife at a sleep clinic. She said the key to fixing my nights is to get her to sleep well during the day. Have been given some interesting tips. Will let you ladies know if any of them are good!

Well after crying unconsolably for hours Jack finally fell asleep at 930. Only thing us he was refusing his feed at 830 so his last feed was at 430 :-/ might be a long night ahead.....

Baby's refusing feeds...I've never heard of such a thing! Hope you managed to get a bit of sleep and he wakes up in a better mood.
Well, so far my techniques aren't working well! Ended up having to feed Ella to sleep. She has then woken twice every 3 hours for a feed. Tried just shushinh her and settling hee but she proper screamed and tried to suck my chin, so I thought she really might genuinely be hungry. She's not, exactly guzzling down the milk though! Naughty baby!
Hope everyone's having nice quiet nights!

Aww katie1 hopefully he be ok xx
Far fed at 9pm and now at 3. Nice 6 hour stretch :) x

Well he went through to his normal 230 which us good but now I'm concerned as his nappy was bone dry! X

Up every 2 hours here ahhhh surely he ought to be sleeping longer by now? I'm so tired

Oh no beesmall I hope your morning is better Hun! Florence went 8-6.30 I'm literally amazed! Had a tiny feed and she's back napping again! Xxx

Pippa that's great!
Katie how is he this morning - taking his milk ok?
Hugs beesmall. I hope it gets better for you soon.
We did great, she slept from 8.30 -4.30. She did stir a few times but settled herself back down. I was up a few times as the neighbors were drinking and fighting on the street again. Can't wait till they are evicted!
xxx

Hey Spin, he slept through to his normal 230 and had 4oz then had about 2oz at 6 so he is feeding just not as much as he usually does x

Spin your neighbours sound horrendous. It's bad enough when the baby wakes you in the night but when it's just selfish neighbours I'd be beyond annoyed!!

Henry is having a mammoth nap...only about 5 hours too late because now I'm up, showered and dressed!! My mum is coming at 1 to take him for a walk so I can have a nap :-) fingers crossed that tonight will be better...

Nooo...his first sleep is always his longest and he's woken up after a grand total of 2 hours :-( ahhh why is this happening?! He fed LOADS before bed, seems to be feeling much better etc. at one point last week he was doing 4 hours

Hey bee hope you get a longer sleep next part of the night!

We're up for first feed - I've noticed it's getting slightly earlier and earlier! It used to be 5 and now it's slowly creeped to 2:50! Anyone got any tips for falling back oh sleep quickly as it takes me an age! Not coming on my phone would probably be a good one, but I'd be sooo bored during the feed!! Xxx

Claire I'm the same, it sometimes takes forever for me to get back to sleep.

Our next sleep was an hour and a half. Seriously what is going on?! I'm exhausted :-(
