Nightfeeds Chat Thread

I know the feeling Minchin. No lie in as DD up at 7 and DH at work. Tired.

Up at 1.30, 5 and 6.30!

Went to bed at 9. Yawnnnnnnnn

X

Well after he woke at 4 I didn't get back to sleep until 7!!!! Urggh! He fed till 5, then I put him back to bed but he was so noisy and had a stuffy nose AGAIN so at 6 I got him out to spray the nasal stuff and then realised he needed changing, so after that he was properly awake so I had to feed him back to sleep again. Managed to get a very broken 2 hours from 7-9, but the 4-7 of awake time was killer!!!
Hope everyone has a lovely weekend! I want to have a film night with my big boy tonight, but I can't bare staying up much after baby goes to bed so it will be an early film for us! Xxx

Hey ladies, 2 crappy nights in a row here. Just got 2 hours unbroken sleep Thanks to hubby taking Hannah this morning. I know I'm lucky! Hannah seems to have a cold too, crazy noisy sleeper!

Best of luck to everyone for a good night tonight xx

Crap night last night I'm almost certain now that Serena has reflux I'd thought so ages ago but hubby who's got 2 other kids was all no no babies puke etc..
But all yesterday afternoon she kept waking up screaming and her wee face was like she was choking. . I could hear stuff coming up like she was going to be sick. .. same all last night she's now finally sleeping on me...
She's hiccups loads and can hear its sore and sometimes you can hear stuff coming up with the hiccups. .
Bless her.. feel so helpless I'm off to get fennel tea and baby gaviscon today see if that helps xx

Oh no seonaid. I think all babies get reflux a bit but when it's affecting them too much it'll need medicating. I hope it helps. Hannah gets hiccups and sounds like she brings up milk at night but then nothing there. It doesn't make her upset though so we're lucky.

Can't believe they're both 8 weeks today! Eek! !

I know... hubby and I were talking about that last night... he did the remember where you were this time 8 weeks ago... can't believe how quickly the time has gone by... xx

Serena has been so restless all day and screaming lots so not like her... i feel so helpless..

I take my hat off to those mums with a newborn and another kid... I'm set for lynching my stepson.. I know he's just a kid but all he's done all day is wake her up running round screaming banging things shouting annoying the dogs so they bark... hubby has told him off too but he's just on one... I'm at my wits end, hubby has thankfully taken him with him just now while he goes get some shopping... x

Awwww. Looking forward to having film nights with my babies. Enjoy.......don't fall asleep!! ;-)

well with no bottle last night poppy slept 9pm til 1.40am, fed then went back asleep at about 2.10 ish, i went downstairs to express and ended up doing the dishes and putting on a load of washing....back in bed for 2.40 then sleep til 5am ish when poppy wanted another feed and DD1 was whinging so had to go give her some ibuprofen as shes teething again, then 6.45am poppy wanted cuddles, she cried and then went back to sleep when i picked her up so we then coslept til 8am

Hope everyone gets a good night tonight....! Jakes been doing his form of cluster feeding tonight and feeding for 20 mins every hour-hour and a half. Desperately hoping this is a good sign - he's been awake lots today and hasn't really slept this evening.

Seonaid - jake gets a bit of reflux I think. He's constantly bringing milk up but it very rarely leaves his mouth - he always swallows it back down. Can't bear to lose milk!! We've been lucky though and it's never bothered/upset him. Xx

Aw Seonaid sorry to hear Serena is suffering. Seren is really sicky and hiccupy too but it doesn't seem to bother her too much although she does get a bit choky sometimes. It affects her sleep though because it wakes her when she's sick. I found baby gaviscon helped for a bit but then after a couple of weeks it became less effective so can be a bit hit and miss. Definitely worth a try though.

I'm interested to see how tonight is going to go. Seren hasn't slept much today and was soo tired by bedtime. She's been fast asleep since about 7.30. We don't seem to have a nighttime pattern yet. We normally get one decent stretch of 4-5 hours at the beginning of the night but last night she was unsettled in the first part of the night and did her long stretch in the middle, 12-4.20. She likes to keep her mummy on her toes!

Hope everyone has a good night tonight xxx

Uh oh, Florrie has been asleep since 8 and won't wake for her usual 9 feed... I feel a bad night coming up! :(!!! Hope everyone has a better than they expect night! Love it when you check the time and it's a happy time! :( xxx

PMA pippa, you never know!
It's do windy here, the outside stairs are banging against the wall plus there are still loads of fireworks going off...keeps waking LO up!
Just gave her a 3oz dream feed...even if it doesn't help keep her asleep longer, it's more milk in to her to help with weight gain :-)

Good luck tonight everyone! X

Paddles he blew me out!! Haha! Decided he wanted to play FIFA on his xbox instead. Charming! Xxx

Seren just slept 6.5 hours straight! 7.30-2.00. This is a new record for us, yay! She's just had both boobies and a nappy change and is dozing back off on me so hopefully she'll go back down for a bit. I on the other hand have slept terribly! Kept waking up and checking the clock and expecting her to wake any minute! Annoyed with myself!

Very quiet on here tonight, hopefully that means everyone is sleeping! Xxx

Ahhhh yay Ammdaz that's brilliant! Good girl Seren!!

Jake went down at 9, woke at 1 and now again at 3.45. Last feed he refused anymore after his nappy change - unusual for him as he usually goes back on for 10 more minutes. Hubby said I could wake him for the next nappy change so think I will hehe... Feel bad as he has work at 11am, but he offered :-)

Ammdaz that's great! I know what you mean about clock watching though!
Tigger87, go for it, if he offered! Take all the sleep chances you can!
We had an unsettled first part of the night due to the fireworks, but we only got woken up by the neighbors twice tonight, yay! Hoping since the police had to visit 3x last weekend they have calmed down.
Although lo was waking she settled herself back down nicely, only woke for night feed at 4, yay! Xx

Just having our first feed. She doesn't ever sleep til about midnight though
She definitely made crazy noises really early but I rocked the basket back to sleep.
Tbh I had to wake her to feed now she was just snorting and thrashing but I know that leads to hungry awake eventually

Spin your neighbours sound like total nutcase's!! At least they've shut up for you though :-)

Jake never cries - he just sucks his fist/thumb louder till I get the hint. Awake, but not crying!

We're up for feed no 3. Annoyed because he didn't to down till 4.30, and he won't go down again after this. I don't want to start my day so early :-(

Spin you're neighbours sound nutty!!

I've had a great birthday present, Noah slept from 11.30pm until 7am!! He was in with me though:-/

Hubby took me out for a meal last night for my birthday and he was a bit hysterical when we got in and he's only calm down with me so I had no choice lol x
