Nightfeeds Chat Thread

Must have been a stinky parp here as just a massive wee!
Back feeding now. There's a bf morning on weds near here but too scared to go until I work out how to bf without cushions. I need to practice with sling. My arms are just too weak without any support!

X

Can you not support one arm underneath with the other?? That's how I do it seems to work ok

We are up for first feed yayy. 8.30-4! Good boy!

He had done a bit of a poo, like a teeny one, & it smelt really really sweet, anyone know why this would be? He's combifed so normally they stink!

Oh god I've freaked myself right out googling it! Apparently it can be a sign of the norovirus! But he's had both lots of the gel stuff, and he seems absolutely fine in himself, no temp or excessive crying or anything really. Hoping its just something I ate going through my milk!

Not the best night again then ladies :(

Noah was back in bed with me :( went to bed but 3 hours later was still whinging, got in with me and slept until now. Thus is going up be a nightmare. Tips on getting him up sleep in his cot would be great!! X

Hope everyone else are ok x

Thanks ladies I managed 3 hrs kip thats 6 hrs in 3 days iv had I'm doin well lol

I need to practise pregnot, problem is Hannah needs lots of help latching usually so that involves using one arm for a, bit,, that's where I struggle.

So, Hannah in the end did: 8.30-10 (downstairs, first she's slept early evening) 11-1am (in basket) 1-3am in bed with me feeding very frequently and 4-7am in basket. I may have got about nearly 5 hours so could be worse, but pretty broken!! Totally different to usual.

Sorry most of you didn't do great either. X

My oh is really p- ing me off. At 7am he went into the spare room as Josh was a bit noisy. Anyway he should be at work at 9 but can use flexi and go in as late as 9.30. He's still in bed now which us not great as he usually watches Josh and keeps him entertained whilst I get up showered and ready! No chance of that now.

So for sime reason I fed at 3-3.15 and 5-5.15 then now. He woke at 7 but I ignored him and we both fell back to sleep until now. How can I be sure in the night that he doesn't want feeding? And is just unsettled like at 7? X

I'm having to catch up with this thread in the daytime now because although I'm up loads in the night I'm just too tired to read or type properly!

So our night started off well, Seren settled herself all on her own in her basket at 8 which was great. But then she was up for a feed at 11 and really unsettled from then on. Poor little thing was trying to sleep but had a stuffy nose and kept being sick so we were up a lot. We coslept from about 3 but neither of us slept very well. She's still snuffly today, do I remember reading something on here about using breastmilk up the nose to help?

Xxx

Yep, I recommended that. It really does help to clear it almost instantly. Use a pipette if you have it and have her on your lap so you can tilt her chin up easily to get it in there.
Hope she feels better soon and you both have some nice naps during the day xx

With Hannah I wait and see if she goes back to sleep... If she starts to cry or gets really agitated I feed. If they're really hungry they get more upset I guess.

How much milk is that in 15mins? I'm going to try a bottle this week, of expressed milk, to see if she'll take it. Might be able to have a drink on my birthday next wk if so!

I used a syringe for breastmilk up the nose ammdaz, pipette would be better though. Has helped her nose though x

Fatty went down wayy early tonight so I'm expecting a bad one. But oh has agreed to get up for the first feed so not too bad!

Goodluck girlies x
