My husband was up at 4am this morning to go off to London, he left about 4.45 and I was almost back to sleep around 5.20 when my nose errupted  Talk about bleeding, it wouldn't stop.

Ended up after 15 minutes calling my husband just to have some company while trying every trick in the book to get it to ease. Finally after a cold flannel to the back of the neck and leaning forward with a mass of tissue shoved up each nostril, it slowed down. I'm sitting here now having cleaned up, sipping a cup of tea and too awake to go back to bed.

I never get nosebleeds, not since I was a kid and apart from some minor ones in first tri, nothing at all during pregnancy.

Apparently this is normal in the last month according to my bedside PG book. So I'm not worrying.

Just one thing :x I changed the sodding bed linen yesterday   It now needs changing again :wall: :wall: :wall: Sleeping on a towel tonight

oh no hun must of been horrible they aint the nisest of things to have let alone when preggers
hope your nose isnt too sore now
manda xx

aww

nosebleeds scare me!! Hope its ok now and doesnt start again

You'll change the bed today and tonight your waters will go  xx

Never had a nose bleed in my life (probably tempting fate typing this) so not sure what its like but from your description it doesn't sound very pleasant at all. Hope its not too sore

Gah, how annoying - I changed my bed linen yesterday too, it would annoy me to have to do it again!

I read that nosebleeds are normal too, but it doesn't stop them being a bit scary and none-to-pleasant! Hope you're feeling ok now!

Mine is just waiting to bleed - have been very bloody recently but no actual bleeds yet. Hope yours is settled now!

Thanks ladies :) Its trickled a bit but nothing like the flow before.

*TMI warning but you'll all read the next bit anyways* :rotfl: but I was swallowing (and spitting out) my own blood for 10 minutes :puke: as well as it bleeding out my nose it was bleeding so much    Was a really bad one :puke:

And Tilly  that'd be brilliant if they did :rotfl:

Oh, that doesn't sound very pleasant at all.

I've always got them but I've had a few really nasty ones in the past few weeks, I even managed to ruin some white bed sheets and mark the carpet :x They are horrible and the feeling makes me feel quite sick too. I've noticed they seem to happen most when I'm in bed, not too sure why this is though.

I hope thats the first and final one for you.

I've had a few recently but nothing on that scale! Horrible isn't it! Let's hope it's a one off xxxxx

At least it happened at home where you had some tissue to hand, what if you'd been shopping  hope you have a well stocked handbag with packs of hankies, but hopefully you won't have any more never mind while you're out and about

Why oh why do things like that always happen the day you put clean sheets on the bed  :rotfl:

Thanks ladies

Hoping it was a one off. I'd not like to keep getting them like that. It was insane

At least I'm not the only one. Was glad to know its pregnancy related at this late stage anyways. Put my mind at rest.

yuck :puke:

the thought is turning my stomach, nosebleeds really scare me too, i don't mind blood usually, but there's just something weird about it coming from your nose  :rotfl:

ive been gettin nose bleeds nearly every morning, not as bad as yours though.. its strange, i've never been one for nosebleeds either... being pregnant makes the weirdest things happen to ur body...

Hi Sherlock,
I was the same in my 3rd tri.....it's horrible! My face used to go numb and sometimes I wouldn't even notice the bleeding had started till I had a pool in my lap!

Just a word of advice, if it last more than 15 mins, pop into A&E as they don't like you bleeding for more than that. If you are on your own, call an ambulance......if you knew some of the time wasters we get in the Ambulance Service, you'd be amazed, and a nose bleed is not classed as time wasting!

Blimey really  Sounds  for you also. It wasn't pleasant for sure. Had I been asleep I'd probably not noticed for a fair while, as it was, although I realised quite quickly it was pouring out already.

Thanks for the advice :) I'll be sure to remember if it happens again and goes on so long to go get it checked out. I seriously could not believe how much blood I was swallowing and spitting though. But that did ease once I jammed tissues etc and leaned forward and put a cold flannel on my neck. But it was a good 10 minutes before that eased off and I stopped swallowing it. It was still bleeding out my nose for a while longer then.

I was sat on the bed thinking it was blooming typical the one morning my hubby goes out and takes the car is the one morning I may need it and him   Luckily it all stopped after a while and I seem to be ok now. Hopefully it doesn't happen again tonight though :?
