Hi Girls,

Im after a bit of advise. When we had Olly 2 years ago he went into a moses basket from birth, he never settled at all during the night and at 3 weeks old he slept in his cot and we went from there. Im hoping this time to buy a crib for beside our bed and leave the moses for downstairs but Im wondering if anybody has used anything to keep baby more comfy in their basket/crib ? Iv seen a few things like foam pillows they lie on or cocoons , mainly to keep them feeling lilke they are being help. Do any of these work ?

This time round we will have a 2 half year old and if baby wont settle at all thought the night im not sure what we are going to do. Im just wanting something that can help sleep (wouldnt we all haha) if you know what i mean.

Any info is very much appreciated

thanks

xx

We didn't bother with a Moses basket this time around. My eldest LO was far too big for it. We got a next to me crib for our second and it's got much more room.

It's just going to be a matter of trial and error of finding what your LO likes that helps them settle without you. There's no magic one size fits all. I've found swaddling helped my two but other babies hate it.

Personally what I've found most helpful so far with having a two year old and a new born is getting lots of help! My OH took a month off work, we kept our eldest at the childminders for four days a week so we could rest and when OH goes back to work my parents are coming round for a week to help too.

Have a look at the sleepy head mattress. We use it in our crib and it will eventually go in our cot. It's been amazing. Our breast fed baby has slept 11pm-7am since 5 weeks!

My little girl sleeps in her poddle pod within her crib and it works a treat... except during the day where for some reason she's not bothered! But she consistently goes 3-4 hours at a time at night in the poddle pod with Ewan the Sheep.

I liked the look of the sleepyhead , can you use the poddle pod overnight ? Xx

I do, but don't think you're actually supposed to. My girl loves it and makes her all nice and snug.
