Hi all...
I'm totally new here & not used to sharing so much info on my TTC journey but I'm at a point where I just need to speak to other likeminded ladies as I'm feeling pretty down. To summarise...I'm in my early 30s, work full time in a pretty demanding job, been happily married for a couple of years & sooooo ready for a baby. We started trying last December so we're approaching the year mark which is making me really anxious. For as long as I can remember, my period never started on the same day each month but it came each month. I've also always had spotting from between CD22-CD24. Completely different sorts of spotting each month & then every few months, no spotting at all. I've had all the blood tests (came back fine although progesterone could've been higher for my liking but was above 30 as it should be)...I've had an ultrasound & i had a laporoscopy in September, results came back normal, no issues. The thing is...I truly believe the spotting is an issue & im not being listened to or taken seriously. I've been seeing an acupuncturist for the past few months & he believes the reason for the spotting is low progesterone. I'm also always very cold. I've researched Vitex & have started taking this (800mg a day) but now on CD22...I've started spotting again! I'm at my wits ends, completely anxious about the whole thing & feel stuck in limbo land. Does anyone have any progesterone / spotting issues they could share with me to help me understand what this could be? Or perhaps I have a short lutéal phase as AF arrives Cd25 most months. Or perhaps I'm overthinking it all (as my DH keeps saying) and we've just not been lucky yet?? Thanks ladies x

My friend had progesterone issues and couldn't hold a pregnancy to term. They gave her progesterone pessaries and she now has a beautiful bundle of joy. I'd push for a few months of progesterone testing, not just one. I'm sure it can fluctuate.
I'm no expert on the subject and I hope someone comes with better advice but I didn't want to read and run.
Good luck on your journey x x

I had spotting issues and I think low progesterone when my weight was too high. Is your weight normal? I know there are books on eating for hormonal balance. Other than that I don't know. Hope you get some answers x

Thanks for the advice! Ive been reading lots about nutrition for fertility but not actually about foods for hormonal imbalances so I'll check some out. My weight is normal to be honest, I'm slim, fit & healthy. Within the BMI I should be & have never been overweight. It's such a mystery this whole thing!!!

I have brown spotting before af arrives and been trying 10 months..almost 11. I am normal weight and had my progeterone cjeckwd amd was 44. I am sure its a hormone imbalance too as I always feel cold too. I have coeliac disease. I've got 1st appt next wed at assisted conception clinic. I am looking for ur answers too. I have ovulation pains and positive opks and ewcm but still no baby. Let me know if you gain any answers!

Hey Alexis...thanks for posting. We sound very similar, apart from the coeliac disease. Do you temp? I've been doing this for a good few months now & it's very clear I ovulate...but my temp drops off after around CD22 in line with spotting so it's pretty obvious what's happening! Are you taking any supplements or herbal medication to try & even out the imbalance? Best of luck at your appointment next week...please do share your findings, I'd be so interested to read about what they've said to you xx

Hey i cant reallly offer any help but didnt wamt to read and run. Welcome to the forum and good luck :dust: xx
