Newbie with a question...

Hi all, brand new mum to be here! Found out I’m 7 weeks pregnant this week. Went to GP this morning and have a booking in appointment with the midwife on 21st December! My partner and I weren’t trying for a baby, and I’m pretty scared about the whole thing at the moment! I’ve not told the boyf yet, going to do it tonight (eeek!). I know he’ll be happy about the baby, but we’re having a few money difficulties at the moment and that’s going to be the stressful part. Fingers crossed it goes well.
I do have a query for you guys as well…, the GP this morning told me that they only do one scan during pregnancy now, at 20 weeks. Is this right, do I not get a dating scan at 12 weeks?!

You get two scans huni, a dating scan at 12 weeks n one again at 20 weeks. X

That's good to know.. he definitely told me i'd only get one. Now I just have to wait for CHristmas week for my midwife appointment.

yep definitely 2 scans.

As worrying as it is, try not to stress about money too much, everyone says it is very expensive but it can be done on a budget

Yeah its usually normal to get 2 scans, one at 12 then at 20 x

Yes its definately 2 scans - where abouts in Leeds are you, as thats where I live

We've had both our scans LGI and the aldies there were lovely!!

You'll def get a minimum of two scans hunny! Your MW will book you in prob just after Xmas for your 12 week one.

Don't worry about pennies! Everyone manages Hun! You can go to lots of nct sales or nearly new baby sales, even car boot sales and get lots of things. You'll also be amazed at how much you get given from friends and family!

Well, i told my man... after a few minutes of shock he was very happy! He even started throwing baby names at me later on! Yay!
