Newbie (sort of!)

Luckily my boss was ok, she has 3 grand children who she adores.

Clothes wise - I keep looking at gorgeous pairs of dungarees and striped tops (for baby not me lol - though I have also seen some gorgeous stripey maternity tops too lol). I also fell in love with the Winnie the pooh Moses basket I saw in mothercare yesterday lol :-)

We've had our names picked for a long time. :)

We've not told anyone. I work with my Mum and we're super close. And she was really low on Thursday as my Nan's unwell.

I know she'll be super excited so I came so close to telling to cheer her up.

But then I'd feel guilty she'd know before my Dad.

So we might tell them next Sunday.

As I see my Mum everyday she'd soon cotton on. So I will tell as soon as my sickness gets bad enough to make me look unwell. Lol.

That app sounds great. I'm making sure I'm happy and upbeat. But I don't want to get cocky about it all.

I have a blood test tomorrow at my Dr anyway and have my booking appt scheduled for July 26th. But they didn't want to see me really.

I'm gonna try and stay away from mothercare as I love the stuff in there xx

Me too, I'll be getting the iCandy, I love it!!!

It will be good once we can start telling people!! And I cannot wait until my maternity leave - we are also getting married next summer so it will be good to prepare and spend time with the kids :) xx

Me and OH made a deal that once we fell pregnant we'd get married before the baby was born! Eeek! so on to sorting that out - we are not bothered about anything big tho. OH just desperatly wants us all to have the same surname

xx

That will be nice and make the time go faster :) Hurry though as lots of people book things up years in advance now :P xx

We are not bothered about anything big. Just a simple registry office with family and then a party after for friends aswell xx

Ah that's ok then :) we are not having anything too big either but will have it at a hotel, wedding breakfast and then party for friends etc. still need to find a dress. Have booked our photographer and most of other stuff. Xxx

I think we'll be getting the Stokke Xplory. I just wished they sold them in John Lewis as we have looooads of JL vouchers. So really we could get a bugaboo from there for free so might end up doing that instead.

Saying that the Silver Cross Surf looks gorgeous in the red so might have a play with that too.

I already have a lot of cloth nappies and a lush changing bag. But now I'm actually pregnant I'm not buying a thing until 12 weeks.

I'm very tempted to pay for an early scan just to see a heart beat to calm my nerves.

I know what you mean cupcake - I am so tempted to get an early scan too. They are £75 at our local hospital :-) not as much as I thought and would give me peace of mind (for a while lol) :-) xx

Just seen this (hectic weekend. haven't been on here for days!) and wated to say Congratulations! :) x

Its a private appt but at the local NHS hospital - apparently most of the cost goes back into the hospital's funds :-) This is the blurb:

Nottingham Pregnancy Scan offers a private service for pregnancy scanning out side of normal*clinic times within the Fetal Medicine Maternal Unit of the Queen’s Medical Centre. You will be scanned by a consultant obstetrician* with recognised obstetric scanning expertise and several years experience in fetal medicine. This means that they not only have the technical ability to perform these scans but also the confidence and competence to advise you if you have queries, concerns, or a problem is found during your scan. Although a private enterprise, a significant proportion of the fees go to the Trust to help with the running of NHS services.

I really want a pushchair this time that has a proper carry cot. I've had numerous buggys like Quinny and Britax and Mothercare but none of them had a proper proper carrycot (like iCandy or bugaboo) so really want to go for one of these.

I might look into the private scan as well... How soon can you have one?

Ps.. Thanks Claire :) xx

I think it's from 5 or 6 weeks. But I think HB is more definite at 7 so I'd probably have one then.

I've always loved the silvercross 3D but have recently fallen in love with the mamas and papas sola. I dont wasnt to spend too much on a pram either. I'm so excited to start shopping!!

2 of my friends have the Obaby Zezu from Kiddicare.

It's really nice. Proper carrycot and rear facing stroller seat.

For £250 makes me wonder if all the celeb prams are worth the extra £700!

i refuse to spend anything over £300 really!! £700 on a pram is just ridiculous! xx

Ha, I know what you mean. Won't be having any more babies so I want to get everything I want!! Not saying it is necessary :) x
