New..with LOTS of questions

Hi ladies,

I'm pretty sure you guys get asked the same types of questions over and over. Firstly, I'm new and new to all of this, and I mean REALLY new. I'm 28, been out as a lesbian since the age of 19 and had never slept with a gut until last week. So I feel rather naive and a bit daft. I've been VERY broody for 6 months and hadn't planned on sleeping with a man, I always thought I would need to self inseminate. I was wondering what the best pregnancy tests on the market were?
I went to see my GP on Monday and talkedto her about what had happened, she dipped my urine because I've been needing to wee more often and I thought I might have an infection but I don't. Is it too early to be having pregnancy symptoms? My last period was on the 14th of June and according to the chart I keep I'm due on the 10th of July. I checked some other charts online and they're all saying the two days I had sex were in my most fertile phase.

OK so here are the symptoms I've been getting (please don't judge my naivity, this has never happened to me before)

Frequent need to urinate
increased vaginal discharge, which is clear not creamy
been feeling mildly sick for the last 3 days but haven't been sick
Tummy was quite sore at the weekend but didn't feel like menstrual cramps (hence one of the reasons I went to check if I had a UTI at the GP's) today I've been feeling like I'm having mild menstrual cramps
Acid indigestion which I haven't been bothered with for 2 years and can't pin point why I've had it the last 3 days
Been feeling overly tired since Monday, went to bed at 9pm the last two nights.

Anyway, I know no one can tell me if I'm pregnant, but are these symptoms that people here have had, is it possible to have these pregnancy symptoms this early. Could it all be in my head?? And I know I'm supposed to wait till the 1st day of my missed period, but do those tests that say you can check 6 days before your period is due work at times?

I apologise for askingso much and being so naive. If anyone can give me advise I'd really appreciate it

Hi

Welcome to the forum, you can use any brand that states that you can test upto 4 days before your period is due, i have heard. If negative test again on your first day of expected period

I must admit with your symtoms you are describing sound like you possibly are.

I started getting symptoms on the sunday I think, period was due on the friday, and I thought that was quite early. So its perfectly possible to get symptoms early. I felt sick and tired and oh so emotional. I just figured I had a bad stomach lol.

Id say just wait as long as you can and take a test. If you can hold out until the day of your missed period then you should get a more accurate result but you can get the ones that do it 4 days before. Sometimes they can miss it though as its too early.

Welcome to the forum. Your symptoms do sound like pregnancy symptoms, but when you think you might be pregnant and you're not used to looking for symptoms it's easy to notice things that you might not at any other time. I haven't had any symptoms until much later on (around 6 weeks), but those were mild which may have been why I didn't notice anything before then. The earliest you might possibly get a positive test if you are pregnant is around 9-10 days after ovulation with the most sensitive tests, but many people don't get a positive until a couple of days before their period is due or even later.

Welcom to the forum, dont be embarrassed to ask questions trust me you should see some of the things I have written!! A lot of the girls say that First Response and Clear Blue are the best pregnancy tests. I would say wait until the day your period is due and then if nothing take a test as that is when you are most likely to get the most accurate result. Good Luck Hun x
