New to ovulation tests

Hi

So I’m new to ovulation tests as the title says! I’m a regular 28 day cycle and Wednesday just gone would have been cycle day 14. I didn’t have any ov tests but got some and tested Thursday (uploaded pic) and Friday -,which was clear. For those who test regularly does the line get progressively darker and then lighter? Would it be likely had I tested Wednesday it would have been positive?

Possibly, they can change from dark to light from morning to evening, so you more than likely have just missed the positive opk!

Is does progress getting darker though, well mine use to, then you get the dark as/darker than the test line, then not sure about afterwards as I would DTD 3days in a row once I got my positive.
