Need advice please

Lucas is really off his feeds. He is taking about an hour to drink about 4oz of milk, he fights and cries. It seems he wants it but doesn't at the same time. He is displaying teething symptoms, drooling, ramming his fists in his mouth, red cheeks etc but is teething a possible cause of him having trouble feeding?

He is still going 3 hours between feeds during the day and sleeping all night regardless of the fact he isn't drinking much. He is still gaining weight but i cant help but worry. My child minder, my MIL and my mam are all saying to give him some baby rice but i really feel he isn't ready, its too early and doesn't need it.

Any ideas or advice ladies xx

Hey hon, when Harrison was about 3 or 4 months old he refused his feeds for over 24 hours. Wanted it but shrieked when he tried to drink from me or a bottle. We ended up taking him to the out of hours doc cos he had a temp too and they told us it was teething related. He was ok the next day,....mind u he didn't get his first tooth until 9 months!!!

Worrying when they won't feed. If ur unsure ask ur doctor or out of hours service but sounds a lot like what we went through xxx

When Toby got his first teeth he refused to feed too, and Sam was ok with breastfeeding but started refusing to take a bottle when his first teeth came though - and went back to normal afterwards. The sucking irritates their gums and makes it uncomfortable to feed. You can try teething gel 20 minutes before a feed or chilling the teat in the fridge just before x

thanks ladies, im pretty sure its teething. Ive tried anbasol (sp?) before a feed but i think i will try the cold teat. I refuse to give him solids, i am 100% sure he doesn't need anything but his milk. He isnt particularly hungry for more, he just cant drink his feeds xx
