1. nappy changes- i hate them lately! melissa squirms and wriggles and rolls and crawls away- and cries and screams when i pull her back and try to get the nappy on- its quite upsetting for both of us! my tricks i used when she first started doing this (playing peekaboo by throwing a babygrow over her face and she pulls it off etc) they dont work any more and im having to resort to my boyfs method of pinning her down :(
there must be another way! its a right battle! my older sister did one for me when i went to visit the other week and i was amazed! she kept millie's attention and perfectly still! it looked so easy! but when i tried it didnt work, i couldnt even keep her looking at me!
any tips to make nappy-changes less stressful for mum and baby?

2. cutting nails! for some reason melissa has decided she dont like the nail clippers- she's never had a "bad experience" (accidental skin-cutting) so i dont kno whats made her decide nail clippers are the enemy. but she wont let me do them! even the sight of them not even near her finger and she wails and flaps her arms wildly! her nails are getting long and scratchy now :( i need tips for this too!

Have you tried the pull-on nappies? They might be better because you can put them on when she's standing up.
With the nails, try cutting them when she's having a nap.

We've having these problems as well :wall:

I've started cutting her nails while she's asleep but I've never thought about the pull up nappies.

What size do they start at and what brands can you get? :)

 I have the same problem!

But, I always win in the end :D

Yup same nappy problem, must be the age, I just TRY singing, playing peek a boo giving him something to play with that he doesnt usually play with (mummys mobile is a good one  ) and if all that fails, pin him down and change it as quick as possible!

Re the cutting, my SIL does hers in their sleep, I found some clippers with a plastic cover on them (dont know where there from they were in mums draw) so oran sits with them pretending to do his own nails while I do his feet then does his feet which I do one hand, then he swaps hands bless.

We are having nappy problems too. Evan is nearly 1 (in 2 weeks time) and he has just started not lying still for me. He jumps over and tries to crawl away. I used to sing to him and give him things to hold when i did his nappy but this doesnt work anymore. I dont even think the pull ups would help as he doesnt keep still for me to wipe his bottom

I now do his nails when he is asleep. He has never let me cut his nails when he has been awake.

I kinda have the nappy problems to. kyran has this obsession with holding his feet on the changing mat which makes it impossible to put the straps down. when i put his legs down they either go straight back up again or he has a huge tantrum and screams the house down.

The nail thing has been a problem since he was tiny. the only way i can do it is to bite them off for him! :puke: he wriggles too much if i get the clippers out and im scared of cutting him. If i do it when he's asleep he always wakes up!

Do you have problems with putting t-shirt/vests on? Ky seems to think its a criminal offence to pull anything over his head or pull his arms through holes
