lol on not having your bag packed or clothes washed - at 36 weeks I really don't blame you. I still don't have my bag packed yet. Shame you didn't get the home birth you wanted but the main thing is you have a lovely healthy baby boy So pleased for you.

No luckily she just said "what have you got daddy?" it would have been in my birth plan though if I'd had one!

Thanks, won't be long now for you. I had a 4 hour labour with my daughter but wasn't sure what to expect after nearly 15 years! I was really gutted about not getting the home birth at first but can't be helped, you don't know what to expect when they come early and all that mattered to me at the time was that he was ok.

I had the discussion with OH this morning.. I think I'm gonna go with skin to skin straight away and we will look together... My OH is the type to say girl when it's a boy and I don't think I'd be in the mood for jokes at that point lol!!
Defo going in my birth plan!! Never even give that a thought!!

Couldn't have a home birth or even go into the birthing unit because I was 36 weeks. Plus the home birth kit etc hadnt been delivered yet. He had to have a few more checks and be monitored with blood sugar levels, that broke my heart as they kept taking blood and he kept failing to reach the required level. Maybe if I'd taken a few more mins he would have been born at home! Must admit I was scared though that he wasn't ready as by my dates I was still 35 weeks.

what a fantastic story hon and a lovely birth, I am so pleased for you, and he is absolutely beautiful!!!!! I had a similar experience and I completely credit the hypnobirthing, I am so glad I did it!!!!
