i am on dilofenic for pain relief with my stitches. i notice towards the afternoon/evening they start hurting again. it feels like pressure down there. is this normal?

i also noticed last night, that a stitch is hanging down :? so im now petrified it might catch somehow and tug lol.

is it normal to still be quite sore over a week after?

getting fed up of pain now. if its not my twinkle itsmy boobs :(

Im so sorry keslo your atill not feeling right, but it can be a good month till your feeling all normal down there.Maybe your having some brusing come out now and thats the pressure you can feel.
did you have disolvable stitches? they should of gone by now really.Get checked out by your HCV or MW when they visit jusat ti make sure, you dont want a infection as that will really tak you off your feet for a good week and its incredibly painfull.

ive not wanted people messing me about down there, so have not let them look. im fed up of people looking at my bits :(

yes they are disolvable stitches. thank god lol.

some may have come out, i dont know. that might be why one is hanging down.

thanks :)

I know its horrid, just let someone have aquick look, thewy wont touch you (they didnt me).I really dont you to get a infection babes.ouch times 100

when i had stitches with cameron it was about 2 weeks before i actually felt better and it wasnt so tight down there etc...

I was the same as you and wouldnt let anyone look but in the end i was in pain so much i gave in.. they just said they were doing there job and not to worry.. keep having those warm baths and sitting on cushions to ease your pain.. oh and avoid jeans till all is ok..

i felt pressure and soreness for just over a week. i remember likening it to having a snooker ball wrapped in a brillo pad up my bum! (not that i'v ever done that! :rotfl: )

Awww Keslo, you sound like how I felt after Ella (breastfeeding with split nipples and feeling like you've been hit by a bus down there isn't fun!). It's hardgoing!! With both of mine I found that near the end of the day I felt sore, bruised and heavy down there, especially after Alex as I was doing more. With Ella in the evenings when I stood up it felt like someone had taken a baseball bat to my bits  It does get easier, I felt a lot better about 3 weeks after Ella and sooner after Alex. Try salt baths (don't get the water on your boobies though and if you do make sure you rinse them with clean water because of breastfeeding), or also try lavender and tea tree oil in your bath, they both help with healing. Make sure you're proper dry down there before getting dressed and try to get some 'air time'. After a bath sit down on a towel for a while before getting dressed. I felt A LOT better after the MW removed my stitches after Ella (they were dissolvable but were rubbing on the sore grazed areas so things weren't healing). I know you don't want anyone looking down there but honestly it's for the best.

Give it another couple of weeks and you'll be feeling more human again

took a couple of weeks before I felt normal after having paris  I hope it stops hurting soon

My baby is 3 months now and I'm only really starting to feel back to normal now, so I'd say being sore after a week or so is normal. I used to feel really bad if I stood up too long, pressure like you say. Plenty of baths do help. If you still feel rough, ask MW to check you over. I know it's not nice but it's beter than getting an infection which will slow your recovery down.
Hope you feel bit better :)

i felt sore and pressure down there for ages, mine were dissolvable but my mw had a look and said 2 looked like they could use taking out before so i decided to let her and oh god instant relief!! you should let someone look hun.

I was in agony with mine for a few weeks after and am only just getting right now, it still doesnt feel right when i feel down there but its not as sore now, can still be a bit itchy though.

One bit of advice other than all the baths and cushions is dont stand up and try and rock your baby because that still hurts me now.

Take some paracetomol as well as the Declofenac, it might ease it a tad but not completely.

i know people talk about baths alot but my midwife told me to get some lavander oil and put a few drops of that in because it helps with the healing and obviously the bath helps. Oh it was so nice, i had one everyday just for the relief!!!!

thanks ladies. my diclofenic has ran out now :( so im going to see how it goes, and ill ask for more if i need it lol.

ive now been discharged from the m/ws. so i couldnt get them to look now anyway.

the reason i didnt want people checking them, is that i saw a different m/w every day. it wouldnt have been so bad if i had seen the same one.

my stitches are starting to come out now. which is good. i think there are just a couple of internal ones left now.

i do worry that they may be infected. as there is some odor from 'down there'

ill go to the docs if i really do think its infected. they will be more likely to give me some antibiotics without looking lool

If you are in pain down there whether your walking, sitting down etc get someone too look cos you dont want the pain i had. They will have aquick look and say whether you need antibiotics or not.And they take couple of days to kick in

I got a minor infection down there because my stitches were rubbing against the grazing and stopping them from healing. They'd also got all ganky from not getting dry and didn't smell very pleasant :puke: Even though you've been discharged you've still got a midwife there until your baby is 28 days old.

You can see the midwife up to 28 days after the birth. Also mine smelt awful just before they started to get better but best to get some antibiotics just incase but the chances are the doc will want to check it out just to make sure.

My stitches were disolvable ones which got stingy and a little inflamed but no infection, I didn;t mind MW having a look when we came home, and I remember a few stitches coming out after wiping myself after a wee, I thought I had a blooming worm when I first saw it  lol

I now take regular lavendar and salt baths, and use homeopathy remedies as well as taking co-codamel. I don't sit on cushions often as there's suggestion that can hinder healing down there, although I know it certainly eases the pain, so now and then can't hurt. I get pressure down there now, but its not stitches related, but not sure what it is yet until my GP appt next Tuesday.

Hope you feel much better very soon keslo

the sharper pains seem to be subsiding now. and it is mainly just the pressure that i get.

how would i know if there is an infection?

i assumed the smell was from my loss (lochia) could this be the case?

i imagined an infection would be sheer agony and id know about it :?

where do they usually do the 6week check? and who does it?

i really hate people looking at me down there. i hated it in labour.

Awww hun, when i had mine checked I was worried to, but they were very discreet it wasn't a 'lie on the bed with your leg wide open' moment, the mw just asked me to lie on my side (fully clothed) then she checked from behind  if you see what I mean so was less undignified

Anyway, I think if the odour is bad then there may be an infection, I was told to tell my mw if there was any bad odour.

Also, I found that as my stitches were healing and dissolving, it was more painful down there, almost as though the stitches were tightening.
