My Scan - Good and Bad News *updated*

Well I had my scan at 1pm today and I'm 8 weeks pregnant (need to change ticker).

I am pregnant with identical twins but sadly only one looks viable. The other is very small and only has a slow heart beat. Have to go back next week to see what's happened.

I don't know how to feel really, I'm so pleased about one baby and sad about the other.

My scan pic is a little bit sad so I'm not sure if I'll post it or not. I'll have a think.

EDIT: Here's the scan. They're both lying with their backs to the camera and their heads to the right.

Sami - I'm not sure really, now there look like two I'd rather have both of them. I guess I'd be very pleased and slightly concerned about having 3 children under 14 months but I know I'd cope - other people do. I'd like four children so I'd only have one more pregnancy and session of morning sickness to cope with

 

Yeah I can see what your saying. I don't think I would want 2, but then if I saw 2 on the scan I would be thrilled. I'd love to see the scan pic if you feel able to share it, you can PM me it if you want.

Thanks. It's on Wednesday at 3.30pm. To be honest I think the smaller baby will be gone by then, I just have to hope it doesn't affect the healthy one. I got to hear the heart beat through the sonogram and was over the moon before they found the second baby. I am still very pleased just a bit shocked I guess.

Lovely picture Louise, I can understand you being concerned about your little weaker twin, but hopefully in the next couple of weeks he/she will grow bigger and stronger. Keeping everything crossed.

Twins don't run in either of our families but I don't think that matters with identical twins, I think it's just cance.
