My parent's reaction

hey i would just enjoyr yourself and your pregnancy no matter what anyone says them 9 months will be some of the most fantastic and life changing months you will ever experience!! Your mum will come round I'm 21 with 2 kids and trying for my third with my husband is 34 years old - he gets moody sometimes - but show me a man that doesnt'! lol Congrats on your pregnancy i wish you a healthy happy nine months

Oh thankyou so much everyone, you lot have kept me sane over the last 24 hours.

I was just posting a reply when my mum rang me. She apologised without prompting and said that she hadn't slept much the night before so she felt a bit dazed and then she was just so shocked she didnt know what to say. She was asking about midwifes, hospitals etc and we're going up tonight and she's off to buy steak to make sure my iron levels are up. Oh and she's evicted her cats to the garden shed for the weekend and cleaned the utility out lol

I think she's still got some anxiety (she always does) but its so good to talk to her about everything thats happening and get her experienced knowledge of pregnancy. She even asked if she would be allowed to come and stay with her dog once the baby arrives to help out. I'm a happy girl now. Now we've just got to tell his parents!

Anyone who hasn't done it yet, my mums opinion is to break the news quickly on the phone and go and see them the next day so they have some time for it to sink in, thats what she thinks we should do with my OH's parents.

So glad your mum phoned back, it obviously was just a bit of a shock then ! She sounds like she's well on board. BRILLIANT relief for you, lady!
