...she doesn't walk by 9 months    !!!!

This is according to my FIL and MIL. Both of their children (including my OH) apparently walked by 9 months. Also my LO's cousins (ie my OH sisters' kids) did so! I politely told them that the average age babies walk is 14 months.

I don't know whether to laugh or cry :shakehead:

So are there any other 'weak' babies here :rotfl: ?

Btw, LO is pretty good at cruising and walking when holding onto fingers and has been doing the latter since 7 months, so I thought she is rather early, and not the opposite

wow I can beat you there I have 2 weak children as neither of mine have walked at 9 months. Perhaps there are some sort of exercises I can get then to do

 Jack is super weak considering he is only just starting to walk at 17 months!

I would have said 'well it must come from your side of the family then' :D

Silly billys

:rotfl: Good god what next ay.

Well dont you worry i have a 'weak' child too. She only stands when she wants to and she is not cruising, she cant even pull herself up to stand. Oh and when she does stand she doesnt take any steps as she still has no idea how to.
TBH she is only just thinking of trying to crawl :D

What are we going to do???? It looks like that pretty much all babies here are weak :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Come on mums start pushing your babies

Charlie - we aren't crawling yet either. I thought LO may go straight to walking, but she has started showing signs that maybe she will become a bum shuffler. She keeps rocking her body when sitting and can moving herself in a circle too...

I do love my in-laws though. I just need to count to ten and I am always fine... Watch this space, maybe there are more comments to follow as we'll be spending another three weeks with them (luckily in an apartment next to theirs though)

what a silly thing for them to say!

Lydia walked independently at 12.5 months

Alex is 17 months and still not walking independently (he cruises though).

My baby is also weak then! Coz she's not walking and is 9 months!
She can pull herself up and walk holding your hands. I thought that was good going! Ah, i'm not pushing her hard enough then. I may go stand her in the middle of the room and let go!

I have an idea how we can strengthen these weak children of ours up! I watched a program called .. World's strongest girl, her dad trained her up from being about 4 months by attaching little bags of rice to her wrists and ankles, a bit like weight training..........

Yep :? They were russian I think, his daughter was around 16 by this time but they had a new daughter who they were 'training' to be the next strongest girl. They did the weight thing and they were throwing her around making her do flips :( She was only about 6 months and it was sickening to watch. Russian SS were on saying there was nothing they could do. Was on channel 4 I think!

Some folk are unbelieveable, ignore them. My MIL tells me that SIL says if Becky doesn't crawl she won't know her left from her right. Funny how I never crawled, went straight to walking at 10 months and don't have a problem with left and right? She does get about via other means and can pull herself up etc. Becky is doomed anyway. Though we're non-crawlers/early walkers on my side, OH's sister never walked until she was 2 and her son walked at 18 months.

In fact I don't know ANY 9 month olds in person (though there are a couple on here) that can walk independently so I would say it's a load of tosh and children who do walk that early are a HUGE minority.

They treat them like money making objects, not children :x

What a load of rubbish - my daughter only started crawling and pulling herself up to stand at 10 months and crawling shortly after. She's not been walking long - she was just over 15 months when she took her first steps and nearly 16 months by the time she was walking.

Good luck with the in-laws - you're brave! I've got mine for the afternoon and have already been in tears at the thought of it!

Thats unbelievable!!! Cheeky monkeys! lol
My cousin started walking properly at 8 months! It was the weirdest thing to see lol he looked just far too small!
The HV told my aunt she would be in for a hard time with him as children that walk early tend to not have much concentration and not like to sit down to watch a film or draw etc! Well she was completely right! Joe is now and always has been like Taz the Tasmanian devil lol! Never sits still ever and he is 11 nearly now!
So maybe its a good job we all have 'weak' babies!! heehee

i consider hannah to have been 'very' early, and she started walking the week before her first birthday.

Emily is still a LONG way off walking yet.

how rude! :shakehead:

Iz has just turned 9 months...she cant crawl, she cant be bothered to roll over, and although she can pull herself up se's still VERY wobbley on her feet and i always hold her hands when she's wanting a wander about... Beth didnt walk until 13 months so i never thought she was "weak", its just normal! Your PILs need to be a bit better informed before thay make comments like that i think. Your bubs is not weak at all

to be honest, i want Iz to take her time...once she's walkng about its going to be so much harder work to look after her  plus i quite like that she still needs me so much. Im not ready for her to be all indepentant yet and its really cute when she's waving her little chubby arms at me becuase she wants to hold hands and go for a walk :D I cant see her walkiing for a really long time. She's got very strong legs and pulls herself up easily, but she's got no balance at all, bless her

My MIL says that my DH was 7 months   yeah right :shakehead: Ruby is now14months and everytimeon the phone,is she walking yet??

Bugger off!!! lol

Thanks for your lovely responses :)

Today, I was told that adding little bit of salt into babies food is actually good for them ('did no harm to anyone in our family') :shakehead:  :talkhand:

Let's let all of our babies to be BABIES without rushing them xxx
