Been meaning to get on here sooner to post my birth story but simply havent had the time what with visitors etc!
So our little princess Delphie was born on the 1st Oct at 14.14pm weighing in at 7lb 5oz!
This is how it all went............
Off i went to bed around half 11 sunday evening, was awoken by the OH and ended up DTD!
An hour later my contractions started.... so i ran myself a bath & began timing them!
Woke the OH to let him know my contractions were fairly close but all was ok and i was going downstairs to bounce on my ball!
Managed to stay at home until 3.30am but wanted to get to my MIL's as it was alot closer to the hosp!
An hour later my contractions were very close and getting stronger so we made the trip to the hosp..... to be told i was only 2-3cm! I decided to go home again!
Pacing the kitchen and lounge until half 6, the pain became unbearable in my lower back so we headed back in!
I got there to be told i was still only 3cm it was then i opted to have pethedine, just to help ease things, my back was so sore! Turns out little miss was back to back!! I couldnt lay down as it was so uncomfortable so I spent the entire labour stood up!! Finally i was then check again and i had progressed to 5cm so i was taken up to the delivery suite!
Few hours later i was 7cm, this is when i started to push :/ the pressure on my bottom and back was so intense, I decided to try and have some gas an air but couldnt get the hang of it as everytime i got a contraction i had to stand and rub my back to ease the pain, so i continued with no pain relief at all!!
45 mins later i was 9cms but extremely tired and the babies heart rate began to drop, the midwife decided enough was enough and said i had to have an assisted delivery, she hadnt turned and her head was beginning to swell
So it ended up being a ventouse delivery & i had to be cut twice which ended up with a further 3rd degree tear!
She was worth every little bit of pain and id do it all again tomorrow!!
