My 16 month old just got over a nasty sickness bug! He picked up Saturday and was getting back to normal yday! We are supposed to be meeting a friend to go swimming tomorrow! My gut says don't take him swimming if is immune system low he'll end up picking up another bug! But my friend said don't be daft! Just wondered what your thoughts were? And is he just as likely to pick sumthing up from the supermarket or music group later? Thanks xx

Hi, I looked into this recently as my little one also had the nasty tummy bug going around. The info I found was not to take them for 2 weeks after due to the high risk of infecting others. I personally went along with that as I didnt like the thought of other little ones having it - I'm sure the swimming pool is full of bugs though to be honest so maybe it doesnt matter and will just make their immune system stronger? I'd say do whatever feels right for you xx

The general rule is don't go anywhere with children for up to 48 hours after the last episode of sickness/runs for risk of infecting others their immune systems will be firing in all cylinders against any other bug as urs been working against this one, hope that helps xxx

I wouldn't go, it's the worth the risk, and swimming pools are a haven for all sorts of nasties! Plus, I think your gut instinct as a mom is usually right :)

Thanks for the advice ladies! He sea lots lots better/ back to normal today so would be a shame not to go, but really don't want him catching sumthing else! Argh xx
