Mucus plug?

Hello ladies,

Well I have just been to the loo and wiped and at least the length of my finger worth of mucus plug was on it, I've been losing kidney bean to grape sized bits over quiet a few weeks. I've also had a small gush of water but I think it's pee tbh but hubby has crapped bricks....can I have some advice to share with him to help calm him down? Poor guy is rushing about saying we need to go get checked, I've got some period pains but not a lot and no back ache so I doubt it's labour but he's just kinda lost the plot over here xxx

You can lose plug over weeks leading up to labour
Unless it's bloody tinged, youre in pain or youre leaking waters you can stay put and hope it gets going sooner than later lol
Put a pad on to measure any leakages x

I've put a pad on its not wet yet so I think it was pee but he's still flapping bless him got him to sit down with me for now xxx

Iv been loosing my plug for weeks. Im surprised how much theres been lol apparently it can form back tho. Doesnt sound like anything to worry about. Lay down for an hour. Get up and see if theres any more gushing.xx

Took me a good 10 days to lose all my plug and literally a few hours before labour when I thought I couldn't possibly lose anymore I lost a massive and I mean massive blob of it tinged with old blood! Lovely! Period pains are probably just to do with losing plug How many weeks are you now hun? x

Thanks ladies, I lay down and sat up and had a squirt of
Liquid but I'm still convinced it's pee. I'll be 37 weeks on Sunday H, I know I could go any time when baby is ready but midwife said even though he's 3/5 engaged he can still come before he's fully engaged as most babies don't engage straight away and a lot do during labour which I didn't know. Also braxtons aren't supposed to hurt are they? I mean full on ow that hurts pains? Xxx

Most people say BH don't hurt but mine do hun, they feel quite painful sometimes. If I were you I would make a note of their pattern, how long they last, how regularly they are coming and going etc. If they get closer together and have a fairly consistent pattern it could be labour.

When I had my daughter I had terrible back ache and period pains for hours and then started getting contractions every 12-15 mins to start with and they were pretty manageable for the first hour or two so I thought it might be false labour but then they started getting more regular and closer together and more bloody painful lol x

My BH hurt too although everyone tells me they shouldnt. So does that mean iv been having false labour starts? Theyve been extremely close together. First time was 2 mins apart then 4 then 3. Times after that ranged from 4-10mins. Always lasted around an hour then just stop instantly. I dont even get excited when they happen now cause i just expect them to stop lol xx

My BH also hurt - I have to sit or stand really still until it passes and can't bear to have anyone touch me. They are pretty much as Mummybee describes can be anything from 2 - 10 mins apart and stop as suddenly as they start. At my antenatal class the MW suggested if you get more than 4 in an hr you should go into get checked but I'd have been in multiple times a day for the past 2 weeks if that was the case! I'm hoping I will instinctually know the difference when my true contractions start. As for the fluid loss / mucus plug I can't really comment - I've lost small bits of plug but only about bean sized and never blood tinged - I think only you know your body best hun, if it feels significantly different to normal then get checked xxx

I've been woken up this morning at 5am by period pain cramps but also in my lower abdomen is hurting, had no leaks or anything during the night so highly doubt it's labour, glad I didn't let oh drag me to the unit now. Thanks ladies I didn't know braxton hicks could hurt xxx

Hope they ease for you. I find the cramping more annoying than anything lol. My BH really stop me in my tracks!
I had a MASSIVE pain down below earlier i swear i thought this baby was going to pop out. I let a massive scream out. Completely came put of no where oh panicked shouting omg is this it are you in labour! haha bless him. Happened twice then she started moving like crazy my bump was all shapes! Went to the loo after and seemed to have lost a lot of plug. Tmi!! Had to wipe 4 times before it all went it just seemed to keep coming. Its so gross!!! Xx

Wow me and you both mummybee! That happened this morning got up to pee felt this horrific pain down low and ended up bent over holding my bump and then more mucus plus came out it was worse this time round as it was and excuse tmi stringy eew. Hope your okay now though? Yeah midwife said braxtons aren't supposed to cause pain but the period cramps are pretty severe at times xxx

Yes!!! Pregnancy is so pleasent hahaha!! Yea. Im grand now. You? Iv cramping at the minute. Just in my back. If feels like baby is also pushing against it causing me soo much discomfort! Been having so much pressure down there id be surprised if i got examined any time soon and they told me baby wasnt low or my body wasnt doing anything lol xx

Haha I'm pretty sure baby is doing plenty it's just very uncomfortable, mine are all in the front right under my bump like a normal period pain, it's irritating as it does decide to just appear and disappear today they aren't so bad so that's good but I bet by dinner time they are back xxx

U definately have to go before your due date! Id be veryyyy shocked if u went over! I was on my ball earlier and it was the first time i could ferel baby well down in my pelvis. So fx she stays there and doesnt keep me waiting past her time!! Xx

Hahaha this one is totally understandable the names are near enough identical. I remember ages ago i used to scroll througg and be like thats not my picture! Or.. i dont remember writing that hahaha!! Oh got out of bed arpund half 6 snd i slept till 9!!! I couldnt believe it. Im now convinced hes the reason i cant sleep. I should maybe send him to the sofa tonight and enjoy this bed to myself haha xx

Haha I did that last night oh stayed down stairs and I still didn't sleep well! So he then went back up to our bed. I am actually not too tired seem pretty awake and energetic actually xxx
