Hi ladies,

Just a bit of a rant really, but I wondered if anyone elses mums are starting to irk them slightly. Don't get me wrong, I love my mum so so much, but sometimes she does my head in!

A few examples:

She let babs lick fresh cream off her finger, if I'm out with her I'm not allowed to push the pushchair, she'll go to give babs Anbesol and not even ask if he's already had any etc.

Now, with the pushchair thing, I did say I didn't mind her pushing it when babs was born so that's kind of my fault (although I'm sure I didn't mean everytime) but while she was walking at a snails pace today on her phone, I offered to take the pushchair and walk on until she was finished, and she actually snatched the handle of me! :shakehead:

The cream incident, I did tell her that you're not supposed to give babies dairy products that early so I don't think she'll do that again but she'll probably give him stuff when I'm not there. The thing that pissed me off the most though, was that she didn't even ask me.

Sometimes I think she gets a bit jealous of me.

God I feel sooo terrible writing this post but I just had to get it off my chest. As I said, I do really, really love my mum and we are really close, it's just sooo hard sometimes.

Anyone else experienced this?

Ive not had this with my mum but have had it a couple of times with MIL. It's v annoying and I have to leave G with them for a couple of hours next Saturday so no idea what she'll do when he's on his own with her.

Oh dear, I think sometimes mums think they know better but they don't always! I'd just have a word.

The other day zac was refusing water and I told her, then I seen her giving him his water when she didnt think i was watching and him knocking it away (I don't think she believed me!). I also had to tell my MIL that she wasn't allowed to give him chocolate when I'm not there as she thinks it's mean that I don't want him to have it yet.

Just tell her straight and try not to let it bother u x

Oh I would be annoyed too. I never get to push my puschair either wth all my older kids so I totally understand there.. My mum, is the other way, has not changed him, fed , pushed him, but will do cuddles. MIL is in scotland and has never seen him, so phew, but oh's horrible sister did give my 2nd boy a chocolate lolly at this age when i was in the kitchen cooking her a meal! I couldn't tell he how mad I was, they dont need it till they are old enough to want it, over two I think it's a slippery slope

As for the foods, well your the mum, she should ask or leave all foods to you and sam for medecines. I would have as poilte a word as you can about all and clear air before it drives you mad.

Thanks ladies,

I've calmed down a bit now but yea, think I'm gonna have a quiet word xxx

I'm really strict with what Noa eats, no way I would give him sweets chocolate or anything with added sugar, i just think its so unnecessary at such a young age n my friend do not respect this. She keeps tellin Noa how mean I am, like he would know what he's missing. The other day I saw she gave him chocolate ( only a very small bit) but I got really annoyed, he's my son n she should recpect my decition. Xx

People don't though Evelina. I have always asked friends first if I could treat their kids (not in earshot as well) and have never assumed it's ok to just give them sweets or chocolate , grrrr!

My dad's a bugger for giving the dog tit-bits, even stuff he's not supposed to (like dairy and human chocolate) and it occured to me that if he's like that with the dog, what's he gonna be like when I'm not there or when my back's turned. Hmmm ...

I know it's well meant but I'm right with you hon xxx

p.s How cute is Noa by the way!
