Ok so ive still Aiden in Moses basket in our room! I know some people will be calling me daft but I feel better him being just there! He's starting to get a bit cramped in there and I know it's time for cot in own room boo hoo!! Just wondered if anyone had any tips for getting him to settle and how they would do it? I usually get him to sleep and in bed by 9pm and ge sleeps till 8am!! I'm gona miss him so much and I just keep thinking his gona be lonely SMS scared in there (stupid u know) x

Not daft at all! Zac grew out of his Moses basket at about 3 months and I didn't want to put him in his own room yet so I bought a travel cot and mattress and he slept in that in our room til 5 and a half months. When we put him in his cot, he just slept fine and I didn't have to do anything. I know some people find putting the Moses basket in the cot for a few nights before they make the switch helps xxx

Aw thanks! That's a lovely msg! I think I'm finding it harder than him hopefully he be fine! I know I'd thought of that but I'm worried if I get travel cot in our room I'll never move him haha! He be 18months and I'll still be saying aww hes too small for own room, so think I should just bite the bullet xx

I spent a couple of nights putting Moses basket on top of cotbed after he had his middle of the night feed and then a few more nights where he spent the whole night in moses basket on top of bed. I just felt it gave him a chance to get used to his room still in safety of basket. He went into his bed fine.

I just put him straight in! I feel bad that maybe I should gave put his moses basket in for a couple of nights first, but hecwas absolutely fine and on the whole has slept a lot better ever since. I did check on him every 30 minutes until I went to bed tho, I couldn't help myself!!

I used to put Lilly to sleep in her cot during the day and once she slept comfortably in there then I just put her in there during the night and she went in just fine. :)

Good luck!!

xxx

Ellie has been in her own room and in her cotbed from she was about 14 weeks, 7 weeks corrected she just would not sleep in a moses basket and any wee noise we made she would wake so we tryed her cot and she slept longer in there, plus we were used to not having Ellie home every night fro 7 weeks ans she was in special care so we werent too worried about her going in her own room xx

Devon would hardly ever settle in his moses basket, we used this downstairs as a daybed.
He slept in with our bed till 11 weeks, then I moved him to cotbed , (also in our room the other side of the room),he was not impressed with the cot at first. I don't like him screeming off to sleep with controlled crying, so I now stand there next to cot at 9pm till he sleeps, sometimes hold his hand , if he crys when Iv'e gone , I just come back and stand there again, he knows he doesn't get picked up.

We found the other kids going to bed, us going to bed, loo etc kept waking him up , so we use a cd with dodgy heartbeat and the sounds of the sea waves !!! hides any noise , even sends me off too

Good luck, sure you will be fine and will help you and hubby too

Thanks again ladies! Yours great! Jj mum your right about it being good for mummy and daddy even though I will miss him! Xx
I know I'm going to sound dumb but what ate the rules for baby sleeping in cot? Is it feet at bottom? And do I have to take bumper off?! X

My aiden outgrew his Moses basket at about 5weeks!!! He's such a log child it's sary! We got a travel cot for our room and he slept in there until last night, we put him in his room and he slept peacefully just like normal, we didn't have to do anything different. Just put him in after his last feed and he chatted to himself for about 5minutes before he fell asleep. Though to be honest I think he'd sleep anywhere like his momma!!
It's so hard moving them out of your room but I found it so exciting going in to get him this morning, the massive smile j got made it all worth it and I'm sure it'll get easier!
Maybe try the basket in the cot idea or put him in his cot for day naps to get him used to it. I dot know about bumpers, I think they're not allowed once child can sit up unaided but I'm not 100% and yeah it's still feet to foot :)

Sorry didn't have time to read your posts but shannon is still in her's and she is 7 months lol

Alanna was in her moses basket till botu a week before 3 months, then went in a travel cot in my room, and just this week gone into her big cot, but shes still in my room >.< lol

Some people put themoses basket in the cot for a couple days to help them get used to it, i didnt bothere, she was fine :)

Well so far so good! Two great settled nights! I'm finding it harder than LO, he just stirs more than usual! But he'll get used to it and he has sooo much room! X
