More expressing questions

I've been breastfeeding Leo for 3 weeks and have decided its time to express some so that his daddy can give him a bottle and so I can have a night out in a few weeks, lol! I've just expressed my first bottle and got 5oz which I'm really pleased with. But I just have a couple of questions, which side do you express from? The boob he just finished on? Also when's the best time to express? I read just after you've finished feeding? And how much do you express, I'm wary of expressing too much as I don't want to start producing too much milk, I was thinking of expressing a bottle a day. X

Hey Naomi, I express straight after 1 st feed of the day, as I find it's when I have the most. I will usually empty the boob I've just fed off and usually get around 150ml which is what lo drinks of expressed (she's 14 weeks)

I do it straight after feeding as I was told it's not the qty but the no of times you express that makes body produce more.

Also then on the days I give the expressed I make sure I express to replace that feed.

It's working well for me, I've given one expressed bottle a day from 3 weeks xxx
