Hi There

Not really sure where to start but I was getting some brown spotting on Tuesday and decided to call the midwife even though I thought it would all be ok as it was brown.
She advised me to call the Dr who put me through to EPU.

I finally got a scan for Thursday at 4pm and I was still convinced I was wasting everyone's time.

I went for the scan and she asked if she could do an internal as she couldn't see much, I instantly knew that something was wrong. :( I was then told that the foetus had stopped growing at 7-8 weeks but the sac had continued to grow (which explained my expaning belly). Was totally numb to be honest. I was advised to come back to the hospital the following day as I wasn't in pain and not bleeding heavily.

Me & DH went back today and I was talked through my options. We decided to go for medical management as things didn't seem to be doing anything on there own. I was given the first tablet today and have to go back on Sunday for the next lot and pessary.

I am feeling so so emotional today and trying to hold it together as I have my niece staying with me.

I am very nervous about Sunday. Has anyone experienced medical management?

Just wanted to share my story and send hugs to everyone that has been through this

First I'm so sorry you're going through this.

It happened to me last year, I went for my 12 week scan and the MW had to get a sonographer in at which point I knew something was wrong, especially when she asked if I was sure of my dates (I was).

They did the same with me and sent me home to go back to discuss options. I also went for the medical management as it seemed like my body wasn't taking care of things. At my hospital they booked me in for the day to the women's ward and I had a room to myself.

I had some pessaries and was told they'd come back to give more in a while. I can't remember how many pessaries it took but eventually I started bleeding. It wasn't much and they were talking about keeping me in longer. I asked if I could go home and after an internal to check things were happening ok they let me go.

All things considered it wasn't too bad, they gave me some pain relief for the cramps which were just like strong period pains, nothing I couldn't handle but figured I might as well have the pain relief rather than cope with it.

The bleeding wasn't too bad either, again it was like a heavy period with some large clot type things (sorry TMI) but again nothing I couldn't deal with. I bled for about 2 weeks and then it was another 4 before my period came back.

It's an awful thing to happen and I'm so sorry you're having to deal with it. I hope it all goes ok for you.

So sorry for your loss. I haven't had to experience medical management as both my losses have occurred naturally but just wanted to send you these     Really hope everything goes okay for you on Sunday, take care xx

Hey Honey

This happened to me in April, nearly the same as yours, but i didnt have spotting.

We are all hear for you, and i hope everything goes ok when you go back to Hospital.

I chose to have a d & c, as my hospital is 100 miles away, and for the medication option i would have had to stay in for a few days.

thinkin of you xxxxx

Oh Tina - I'm thinking of you honey  .

I hope everything goes as well as can be expected tomorrow.

Valentine Xxx

Im so sorry, I have had 2 missed miscarriages this yr the first time i had MVA to remove it the second time i went for medical management, just pm me if you want anymore information.

So sorry for your loss Tina, I had a missed MC in Jan but opted for a d&c. I had the tiniest amount of brown coloured discharge one morning and decided to get checked out at 12 1/2 weeks found that the baby had stopped growing at about 8 weeks. Good luck for tomorrow, thinking of you xx
