MIL making a second nursery

Aww bless it sounds like she's just a bit over enthusiastic. My mum made her spare room into a nursery and it was an absolute godsend for naps while visiting and not having to remember everything. She still has the right size nappies etc available when we visit.

I would personally just allow MIL to see her in the cot/moses baseket at first and take some pictures. Have a day where you let her take you out to a cafe or something with baby in the car seat. Let her feel like she has a part but with you there.

When baby arrives you will find it much more natural to say you don't feel ready to leave her yet and without it hurting MIL's feelings.

PS. My LG's nursery wasn't ready until she was 5 months old when she moved into it.
