Midwife Frequency

I know that this varies from practice to practice, let alone area to area, but I feel quite left alone when it comes to Midwife visits.

Apart from the initial booking visit at about 10 weeks, I've only had one, and my next one isn't until the end of October. I thought they were supposed to get closer and closer together?!

If I didn't have you guys I think I would have gone mad!! Is this the norm for appointments? I was thinking of booking one for next week, as ours aparently never gets fully booked, just as a check up really. I've had a few twinges, and I'm still not feeling any definite kicks, so it would be really reassuring to hear the heartbeat and have her say things feel/look ok.

Am I being paranoid?!

its normal hun i had 16wks 24wks 28wks 31wks just waiting for 34 next week then in last few weeks it gets closer sometimes if it your first you can see them more but if nothing wrong they dont tend to bother x

In my file it says:

Booking in appt-before 10 weeks

Ultrasound appt-10 to 14 weeks

Mw appt-15 to 17 weeks

Ultrasound appt-18 to 22 weeks

Mw appt (1st baby only)-25 weeks

Mw appt-28 weeks

Mw appt (1st baby only)-31 weeks

Mw appt-34 weeks

Mw appt-36 weeks

Mw appt-38 weeks

Mw appt-40 weeks

Mw appt-41 weeks

When you see it like that I think it kind of shows that maybe you are seeing mw more than it feels like you are iygwim?
If you have a question/problem then you can always call the numbers that should be at the front of your notes or your gp surgery when your mw is there. I like not having to see mw lots and lots.
