For those with other kids did you take them with you to your midwife appointments?

I've got a midwife appointment on Wednesday and im not sure if I shoould take Nathan or not

This is my 1st appointment with her in the clinic. The other was at home and then my 20 week scan + appointment in hospital.

When I used to go last pregnancy for appointments I'd be kept waiting for ages before she finally seen me so don't know if I should take Nathan really

I didn't take Harrison to mine just because i was kept waiting over an hour before i got to see my midwife and i know that he would have been so bored and it would have been more me trying to keep him busy.

But there is quite a few mums that take their older children, and normally they do have toys to keep other children entertained, it was just that harrison was to old to play with them.

I never took paris as she was at school, but I can't see why you shouldn't take him :D Just take some toys and snacks :)

Aww it would be lovely for him to go and be involved with the baby, hear the heartbeat etc.. :) Maybe take some toys, drinks, snacks for him just incase you are kept waiting a lil while.

Thanks for your replies :)

I'll take him to this one and see how long im kept waiting ect and how Nathan is while we are there. If im waiting too long and he starts getting bored I won't take him to anymore appointments :)

If it's like last time though I'll be waiting over an hour

Beth's been to everysingle MW appointment with me :D She'd be gutted if i didnt take her. Luckily my MW knows i always need a 3.45pm appointment, then i can take Beth when she finishes school. She loves hearing the heatbeat and seeing me get my BP done. And whenever they took blood it always made her giggle, lol, strange child

hi.....i take kyle and ebony with me to most of my appointments.
theres no one to have them for me usually so i have no choice but i think id take them anyway (well... most of the time!!) so they can hear the babys heartbeat and feel a bit more involved.
i make sure i have toys snacks and drinks with me and maybe a book i read to them as sometimes im left waiting for over an hour.
they are sometimes a bit stressful but usually theyre fine.

I took DD to all of mine
Thankfully the health centre was fully stocked with toys (there were even toys in the rooms) plus the midwives always involved her.

We're taking Isaac this week as MW wants to see him, and she's never said that you can't, if you have to then take him I'm sure it will be fine, they are in the baby business after all

However, I do know the hospital scans can be different, here they have notes up all around saying no children under 16 allowed in the scan rooms, but how vigilant they are I don't know, I would maybe ring your hospital and check as it would be a wasted trip for your special scan day if you get there and cannot have it because of LO  Very best wishes
