Hi all. Well Im pretty sure Drake has one. He's got a little protruding line going down his forehead and done a stupid thing like 'google'!!!! Made myself sick with worry yesterday!!!! He has a medical at 9 months so not sure if I should ask about it then or see about it now? The thought of my boy going through surgery scares the life out of me! I'm hoping it's not that bad to need it!

Anyone else experienced this at all?

No experience Im afraid Hun But If your worried about it id take him to have it checked now, Tegans got a very flat head at the back when i had to see the pediatrician i asked him about that he said it was perfectly normall, i think its good to put your mind at rest. :hugs: xx

Thanks Hun. I think I will although I think I may be palmed off as being a neurotic mother as it's quite rare. If they did perform surgery they wouldn't do it till 15-20 months...that's a lot of months worrying if you know what I mean!

Awww hun, no advice really as not experienced it but wanted to send hugs  hopefully he is absolutely fine :-)

I'd go now if you're worried hon x hope you're ok x

All appointments are taken today so will have to try again Monday. I'm going to try and out it out of my head for now. Looking on the net, it seems he has a mild case and may be ok. But we won't know for sure till he has proper exams. Other than that he's great, doing all stuff he should be doing and the HV is happy with him!

 did you tell them it's an appt for a baby? Theyve got to see babies the same day! Hope it's nothing too serious hun cx

They asked if was an emergency and I told them it wasn't which it isn't.

Metopic ridge is where the 2 bones in the forehead close prematurely (whereas they don't close till the baby is about 2 I think) and it cause a potrusion where they join up. The only complication is brain growth and developmental delays (severe cases) Drake only developed his in the last month and he's right on target with his development (HV thinks he'll be walking early!) So I think he'll be fine. I think it's more cosmetic than anything. If he does have surgery they reopen those bones and that's it. Invasive and he will be swolen and in hospital for a few days but the outcome is great apparently. I'm not worried about if he has it more so that they'll want to perform surgery even though I know it will be fine it's not going to nice seeing my baby like that.

oh gosh hon hope you get some answers and you can try and put it out of your head for the weekend. Like you said it seems a mild case, well done you for being so alert.

Oh..I wasnt aware of this..hope he is well...what r the symptoms u noticed..?

No symptoms hun, just noticed the line down his forehead. It doesn't affect him at all tbh. I'll get it checked out anyways xx
