Well ladies I am still here! Just not posting as much. Three weeks ago I was diagnosed with diabetes and put straight on to metformin. My average blood sugar over the 6 weeks before that was around 12 so quite high. Hoping I am one of metformin success stories!

Good luck! I honestly think metformin is a miracle drug (even though I'm yet to get pregnant...) xxx

Hi Sugar! Long time no see. Hope the met works for you.

I'm still not allowed it as my blood sugars are reading fine every time they are tested, even though loads of ladies are the same with pco and yet are allowed to try it and it seems to do positive things for them! I will be pushing harder for met over the next few months.

Snowbee - are you taking inositol and/or chromium? They're like milder versions of metformin and what I took before being given metformin. They were also what my friend (under the same clinic) was told to take when they refused to give it to her xxx

Interestingly, my IR has never been checked as far as I know...

Yes I've been taking d chiro inositol for 18 months and several other 'natural' remedies. It costs me a fortune though and I was hoping to get something prescribed instead.

Yeah, tell me about it... I was overjoyed to finally get a prescription...

They found the diabetes by accident! Didn't have a period for 115 days so my GP ordered every blood test known to man lol it is all over the place and god knows how long it had been high. I know Snowbee! I did message you on here the other day to see how your getting on x

Have to say that my gynaecologist was going to give me metformin last year, regardless of sugars. I declined because I knew what it did to people's bodies! Now I have no choice ha not been too bad on it really...

Oh Sugarpop! I think it took a week or two for my body to adjust to the metformin but it's fine now - not as bad as I expected at all x

I'm still only on one a day because I forget the morning one I ate maltesers late one night and was up feeling horrendous!

Sugarpop, I too am diabetic and on metformin... just putting it out there that if you need a chat gimme a shout :) xx

They are so easy to forget! I take other medication first thing in the morning and last thing at night that I never forget, but metformin with or after meals is so much easier to forget.

I've found your body does begin to tolerate more foods the longer you take it. I can eat a little chocolate now and then (but takeaway curries... nooo!).

Hopefully we will both get pregnant in 2016 ;-) xx

My sugar was 5.7 on Friday (average) and I was soooo shakey! I had to eat because I felt terrible. My diet has never been bad but obviously my body is so used to high levels that as soon as they go anywhere near Normal I feel like they are low. Hoping my body adjusts! Had loads of extra CM this week so taking that as ov haha as if! Gonna test Xmas eve regardless x

Oh thank you! You can probably answer all of my questions! Ha x

Extra CM is great! Is it EWCM? Since being on metformin (and chromium - a milder, natural alternative) I've had lots of EWCM around ov so you could well be!

I've been wearing a liner because it's been so much so don't really know. There's just loads of it ha I had a little throbbing pain in my belly today so fingers crossed its implantation lol I had a little pain on my right side when the extra CM started so time will tell?

Just had a look on my calendar and the extra CM started on Monday. So I could be 6DPO
