Was sat with OH today and got talking about Jack being born and found out something I never knew.

At the time I remember the docs talking about Jack's heartbeat dropping and got myself a bit worked up but with Gas and Air was out of it really. I thought it was cos Jack was stuck and getting stressed and they had to turn him to get him out. Turns out Jack was pressing against his umbilical cord stopping the oxygen and the docs had to turn him to move him off it otherwise I was going to be rushed for a C section.

The amount of times I have asked OH to fill in the blanks for me and he has only just decided to tell me that information now

Anyway it actually made me want to cry thinking that of my baby, obviously he's happy and healthy and i'm glad for that but still makes me feel a bit wierd.

So glad for the brilliant nurses and doctors though :cheer:

Next time i want it recording! then i am not relying on oh

lol, i was the same.... for months afterwards little bits and pieces would come back to me (like shouting at the nurse, that i was not going to do a poo in a piece of plastic - bed pan! i would do it in nothing less than a proper loo :rotfl: ).

Alice was the same - laying on her cord. Every weekend, the MW's used to scare me saying alice needed to be delviered then, but the weekday mw's where used to alice!

you may find they didn't tell you at the time, and played it down to OH as you would have got overly worried!

I didn't realise until recently that ds had a knot in his cord when he was born. Apparently the midwives think it had been there for a while but only got pulled tight during the birth.

Thinking back I vaguely remember then saying he's a lucky boy but I was still a bit out of it & totally absorbed in my newborn baby so didn't ask questions.

It's pretty scary looking back!

LMAO at the tape recorder, would you really want a record of the nonsense you say during labour!?! :D

As long as it had no shots of my foof then yeah definately, I think it would be hilarious. It may however put me off having anymore children but OH would prob think thats a good thing after our next one :rotfl:

I had a similar thing - found out later that the umbilical cord was round her neck when she was born. Didn't know that at the time or for a while after. Probably a good thing but makes you realise how different men and women are in what they see as 'information' :)
