Aurora, I don’t blame you, you should be able to just tell the manager and they could keep it quiet but put you on lighter duties?

I’ve been bleeding and due to my previous losses, had a scan today. I’m measuring 6 weeks (by my lmp i would be 6+5).. theyre going to rescan me 1st October as they could see the sac and baby but it was too small/early for a heart beat x

Lou, that's great they could see the baby on the scan. Fingers crossed you get to see the heartbeat next on October 1st!

Aurora, I'm a police officer and I told my managers when I was 4 weeks that I was pregnant last time so I could be moved off of patrols and on to a desk role. They completely understood and as far as I'm aware kept it quiet - I even moved teams twice while they tried to find a suitable role and although there was speculation, they respected that it was early and didn't tell everyone. I already had back issues so we said it was that lol
I think it's definitely worth mentioning as they have a duty to make sure you're not in any harms way (such as patient facing/heavy lifting etc) and if you're starting to feel affected by that role they need to adjust your duties

Keep trying, hope you’re ok. I went up to the day unit yesterday. They didn’t rehydrate me in the end and I was gutted but then have given me anti sickness medications which have helped a bit. I feel for you, it’s really awful.

Because I went in yesterday they scanned me today and all looked good. Said I’m measuring around 6w but my dates say I’m 7+3. Not really sure what to make of that.

ABC, glad the meds are helping a little.
I think when it's this early dates can change so much. With DS I had 4 scans, including the 12 week one, and by the dates changed with each one. I wouldn't worry about that so much until your 12 week scan when they can give you a bit more of an accurate due date

It really is isn’t it?! Did you have sickness with your others? I had it bad with dd but a bit better second time round this time is worse than second one which I am gutted about. I wouldn’t worry to much I have long cycles and should be 8.5 weeks but I’m measuring 7 weeks but on the scan it gave a range between date rather than an actually date if that makes sense. Did they see a heartbeat? Xx

Yes, they did see a hb so I know everything is ok at least.
I didn’t have any sickness with previous pregnancies so this seems awful. I’m sure you will feel a bit better after the fluids, hopefully they can give you some mendication too.

Yer thanks I’ve been on metrocloprimde and andonstron from 5 weeks as I had severe hg with my first they have given me another one to see so that’s 3 different ones at different times of the day I really hope it does the trick and I’m really struggling xx

Hey DaniNic, congratulations It's completely normal to be scared, you're in good company here with that! I joined this forum when I found out I was pregnant with my first in Dec 2016, and I was terrified as it wasn't exactly planned. The ladies here are lovely and so knowledgeable so don't be afraid to ask anything! Fingers crossed this is a smooth first trimester for your first little one!

Do you have a date for the start of May, and I'll add you to our little list on the first page

Not necessarily. Unless your boss has mentioned it. Could you not casually mention around anyone else about a sore back or something to throw them off?

They can suspect but that doesn’t mean anything. Whenever a woman is sick or doesn’t drink or changes duties they always suspect pregnancy.

The important thing is that you’ll be safe and well while at work

I'm using my arm as an excuse I broke it a few months ago and its still painful. It cracked really loudly the other day whilst in work and several people heard it, so hopefully people will believe that.

Try not to panic about dates. They would have said if you had reason to worry.. a lot of the time that’s why they don’t commit to ‘dating’ until around 12 weeks, it can change a lot. Plus factor inlate ovulation or late implantation. Fingers crossed for you though, I’m measuring behind and it is a bit worrying xx
