Maternity clothing?!

So at 14 weeks I'm certainly not big enough to start thinking about maternity clothing generally just yet.

However, my work trousers desperately need replacing, and it seems silly to buy a pair of trousers (just regular black work ones) that aren't maternity, otherwise I won't fit them in a few weeks...

So a) where do I look for work trousers? b) where do I go to shop maternity generally?? I'm worried about losing my own sense of style and identity if I can only shop in Mothercare...

Thanks :)

For work trousers I liked New Look. For jeans H&M are my favourite. Generally they are my go to shops when pregnant.

Lots of places do maternity wear, for cheaper stuff places like Asda, Primark or Tesco are probably better bets, or JoJo Maman Bebe or La Redoute for a bit pricier stuff. x Places like H&M, New Look and Matalan have a good selection too.

Although, if your trousers are just tight around your belly, maybe try a rubber-band first until you find something?

Not too tight on the tum just yet, just looking like they might split on the bum  So they'll need replacing soonish...

Fab ok, that's a better selection than I first thought! Do you think these shops need to be the large versions? I guess smaller ones may not stock a maternity section... Thanks for the ideas!

Ah, good enough reason to get a new pair then haha!

Unfortunately it seems with most of these it's pure luck as to whether they have a maternity section or not, so far the best high street selection I have found is H&M and Peacocks (forgot about those), but hopefully you might have more luck!

Ugh maternity!

My opinion. To be honest for maternity jeans, leggings (or work trousers) I gave up and went to mothercare. Their jeans are about £30-35 and are actually really nice. Different lengths and the best over bump bands I've found. I had to size down. Though their bras were rubbish for me and I had them measure me too. I was all over the place size wise in New Look, and their jeans and trousers fit so bad. I'm on my second baby though and huge compared to my first. Could be that.

For dresses, work, or tops I like H&M (cheap but well fitting and I found normal top size and maternity size match well) and ASOS have lots of nice stuff too. New Look have a few different standard fits of maternity tops some are fab and some are awful. Mine is shit though for stuff in store. M&S for maternity bras so far for me. Boohoo have great party, night or day dresses in their maternity range I was quite surprised. Asda I've found aren't great fits for trousers etc for me. xx

Thanks Shanivy, that was a good list of ideas there!

I'm half excited to start wearing maternity clothing (because it means I actually have a proper visible bump) and half dreading it just because I just think there won't be enough options. I don't want to be stuck in maternity leggings until October haha.

Hey/ I have been looking at ASOS, H&M, new look- I mainly have been getting ASOS as they do tall maternity which is a dream!
